Can’t say enough good things about these paints! Painting this bass was an absolute pleasure, and I’m already looking forward to putting Champions Choice to work on a lot more fish. 🙌
With that being said, as my “official” first post since my hand surgery, I wanted to take a minute to give everyone an update on where I’m at and what things will look like going forward.
Many of you have reached out asking how my hand is, how I’m doing, and, most importantly, whether I’ll be able to work again.
I’m extremely fortunate and blessed to say that my fingers were able to be reattached and are functioning about as normally as I could have hoped for. I do have some permanent limitations—I’m unable to bend my thumb or index finger due to the injury going through the joints—but considering everything that happened, I’m incredibly grateful for where I am today.
Words really can’t express my gratitude to the medical team that worked on my hand and everything they did to give me the ability to get back to work and go about my daily life with relative ease. I don’t take any of it for granted.
As for work—I’m officially getting back at it.
If you currently have a fish on the books and are waiting for it to be completed, I’m working as often as I can to get caught up. My books are currently closed while I work through the backlog. I just can’t, in good conscience, continue taking on new work when so many people have already been patiently waiting. As I get caught up, I’ll post updates here regarding availability and when I’m ready to start accepting new work again.
Being unexpectedly out of commission was challenging in more ways than one. Every day that passed was another day I knew I wasn’t able to get things done, and I truly appreciate the patience everyone has shown me throughout all of this.
Thank you to everyone who reached out with kind words and support—and an especially big thank you to everyone who didn’t show up at my house with an angry mob and pitchforks demanding their fish back. 😂
Above all, thank you for your continued patience, understanding, and support while I get back into the swing of things.
It feels damn good to be back.
