I love a good basket, so please hear this with kindness: containers do not fix clutter. When we buy storage first, we organize things we may not even love. The KonMari Method starts by choosing what sparks joy, and then every item gets a home. Save this for the next time you feel the urge to shop for bins, and tell me in the comments which drawer makes you sigh.

The pantry is often one of the last spaces people give attention to, not because they do not care about it, but because it is so constantly in use that it can feel impossible to pause and reset.

This month in my ongoing KonMari Komono series, the blog post goes room by room through kitchen organization: how to tidy the pantry, the refrigerator, the under-sink cabinet, and how the KonMari Method approaches food, cleaning supplies, and mindful discarding.

The full guide is on the blog now:https://www.sparkjoyinmi.com/post/konmari-kitchen-and-pantry-organization-a-room-by-room-guide

I would love to hear from you: which part of the kitchen feels most difficult to keep organized?

Client love❤️

Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks during the women who organize event.

I loved the suggestion of discarding first and then buying the storage. In the past I would buy the storage and then fill it up. I probably didn't discard as much as I could have since it all fit in the storage container.

No Metro Detroit Asian food day is complete without a stop at H Mart.

I love wandering the aisles here, the banchan, the produce, the snacks I always mean to try just one of and then buy five. It is one of those stores that makes you want to cook the second you get home, and it reminds me why I love helping clients build kitchens and pantries that feel this alive.

Light Cantine gave me real Chinese cooking, made with care, nothing watered down for a wider audience. This is the kind of meal that makes a whole day worth planning around!

Where do you go for the most authentic Chinese food near you, I am always taking notes.

I walked out with a bag that said bringing joy to life, and it made me smile.

That is basically my whole business in four words. Yugo in Madison Heights is a little shop full of things you will not find in your regular stores, home goods, snacks, and gifts, all with that same joyful spirit I try to bring into every home I organize. Sometimes the universe hands you a perfect line right when you need it.

What is the last thing you bought that made you smile, tell me below.

If you love grocery shopping the way I do, this is your next field trip.

168 Asian Mart in Madison Heights is the largest Asian market in Michigan, and walking through it feels like a small trip on its own. Live seafood, produce I cannot find anywhere else, and now a full food hall too. I always come home from places like this with new ideas, for meals, for gifts, and for how I want to bring more joy into my own work with clients.

I did not plan to stop here, and it turned into my favorite five minutes of the day.

Right next to Noble Village is a bakery that stopped me in my tracks. White Wolf Japanese Patisserie blends French technique with Japanese flavor, and the matcha crepe cake is the kind of dessert you think about for days after. The best discoveries usually happen when you leave a little room in your day for wandering, in business and in life.

I have been chasing good sushi in Michigan for years, and I think I finally found it.

This used to be Noble Fish, a tiny spot Detroit foodies have loved for years. Now it has grown into Noble Village, a full Japanese market and sushi counter in Clawson, and it still has that same care in every single piece. Watching that kind of attention to craft always reminds me of why I love the work I do too, the small details are what make something feel special.

Tell me your favorite hidden sushi spot in Michigan, I want to try it next.
