When it comes to moving, we meet you where you are. Some clients want us to pack everything. Others, like this one, do most of the packing themselves and just need help pulling it all together.

Our client is a busy professional with a trip between now and moving day. She'd packed most of her condo on her own, but she told us she was feeling overwhelmed by her space.

Our goal wasn't a showroom. It was a home she could still live in until the move. We brought all her boxes together, cleared her bed and kitchen counters, and got everything organized so she can come home to a plan instead of chaos. And once she's moved, we'll be back to help her unpack.

By the end, she told us her home felt much more manageable.

Today marks 25 years since 9/11. I think most of us can still remember where we were when we heard the news and how profoundly that day changed our country.

Today is a day to pause, remember, and give thanks to the people who have served and continue to serve our country and our communities.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with military families, veterans, first responders, teachers, and other public servants. Supporting those who spend so much of their lives supporting others is something I care deeply about. It’s one of the reasons I offer a discount to military, veterans, first responders, teachers, and other public servants.

I try to do my small part by making our services accessible to those who serve, sharing what I know when I can, and using my business as one way to give back.

On Monday evening, I’ll have the opportunity to present virtually to the Wounded Warrior Project for the third time, and I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to contribute in this small way.

Today, I’m simply remembering those we lost on 9/11 and expressing my gratitude to those who have served, sacrificed, and continue to serve.

Today, we remember. And we give thanks to those who serve.🙏

"Phenomenal service, would absolutely hire this company again in a heartbeat.

I had the huge responsibility of clearing out my in-laws’ vacation home which was 2,000 sq feet and 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in just FOUR DAYS. Every single drawer of every dresser and every closet and kitchen cabinet was overflowing with stuff.

A lot of the stuff was not worth saving but it wasn’t clear which piles since they were mixed in with random important family photographs from the 1930’s and a huge number of sentimental family heirlooms (postcards from WWII, my husband’s grandparents wedding platter painted by a family member, army honorable discharge paperwork, baby albums of his grandparents, his grandmother’s college degree, etc).

Sorting this into piles and packing up the usable kitchen items and lamps securely as well as organizing the important items into plastic storage boxes that would go into a POD was a daunting task, but Rosie and Christine saved my life and helped me get it all done in 4 days!!!

Literally 4 days from start to finish clearing out the house. Christine and Rosie showed up with packing materials and a great attitude on day 1.

Christine helped me tackle the countless boxes of family keepsakes that were intermixed with random receipts and junk mail with an unbelievable energy and perseverance. When there were times when I got decision fatigue, she would sense it and offer breaks from the hard work to tackle the “easy” piles of mildewy wooden bowls or crusty paintbrushes before getting back to the tough stuff. I truly don’t know how I would have done any of that hard work without her.

Rosie efficiently organized all of the kitchen into individual piles for me to choose the items that were worth keeping (“going shopping” which made it fun) and took care to pack up the fragile kitchen items carefully, get ride of the items I didn’t want, and framed artwork throughout the house that we wanted to keep securely. I learned so much about techniques for packing; she is a total pro. Her organizational expertise, serious work ethic and fabulous energy kept us moving. I loved Rosie’s positivity with “we got this! You’re doing it!!!” which got us through to the finish line.

I am eternally grateful for the help that your company provided at an essential moment for our family. I truly can’t thank you enough. I have recommended all our family members to you already. This service is worth way more than I can possibly put into words. THANK YOU!"

We’re excited to share that Miranda has been promoted to Operations & Client Care Coordinator! 🎉

If you’ve called or emailed Decluttered recently, there’s a good chance you’ve already connected with Miranda. She has become an important part of the day-to-day experience our clients have with Decluttered, helping answer questions, coordinate schedules, and make sure our clients feel taken care of from their first interaction with us. In her new role, Miranda will support our clients and operations across all four states we serve: Texas, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

Over the past year, Miranda has also become an invaluable part of our team behind the scenes, bringing organization, reliability, and a thoughtful approach to everything she does. We’re thrilled to recognize her hard work and growth with this new role.

And today is especially special because it marks Miranda’s one-year anniversary with Decluttered! What a wonderful way to celebrate a year of growth and all that’s ahead.

As the school year has started, I'm thinking about all the routines that help make these first few weeks go a little smoother.

I originally wrote this post with busy parents of students with ADHD in mind, and I thought it was worth resharing this time of year.

As a mom of three, I know how quickly the back-to-school season can go from exciting to overwhelming! Before school starts each year, there are five things I always do to help our home feel more organized and make those busy mornings run a little smoother. They may seem simple, but they make a huge difference once school is back in session.

Some homes hold more than belongings. They hold generations of memories. We recently had the privilege of helping a client prepare a beloved family vacation home for its next chapter.

This was a home filled with years of memories created by grandparents, and getting it ready for renovation meant bidding goodbye to physical items. We helped declutter, organize, and empty the home, sorting through the things that had accumulated over the years and making space for what comes next. The team used a dot system to color coordinate boxes that were headed in different directions (some to storage, some to donations).

Transitions like this can be emotional. You're not simply deciding what stays and what goes. You're honoring the people, traditions, and memories that made the house feel like home in the first place.

But there is also something beautiful about watching a home pass from one generation to the next. The next chapter doesn't erase the memories that came before. It creates an opportunity to build new ones.

Our client is now looking forward to a new season in this special place, with the hope of filling it with many more family gatherings, traditions, and memories for the next generation. We're honored to help make room for what's next.
