As the school year has started, I'm thinking about all the routines that help make these first few weeks go a little smoother.

I originally wrote this post with busy parents of students with ADHD in mind, and I thought it was worth resharing this time of year.

If you have a child with ADHD, take a look. There may be a few ideas you can incorporate!

As a family that has a student with ADHD, we are using these back-to-school organizing tips to help us through the school year.

As a mom of three, I know how quickly the back-to-school season can go from exciting to overwhelming! Before school starts each year, there are five things I always do to help our home feel more organized and make those busy mornings run a little smoother. They may seem simple, but they make a huge difference once school is back in session.

If you're getting ready for the first day of school, I hope these tips help your family too!

Some homes hold more than belongings. They hold generations of memories. We recently had the privilege of helping a client prepare a beloved family vacation home for its next chapter.

This was a home filled with years of memories created by grandparents, and getting it ready for renovation meant bidding goodbye to physical items. We helped declutter, organize, and empty the home, sorting through the things that had accumulated over the years and making space for what comes next. The team used a dot system to color coordinate boxes that were headed in different directions (some to storage, some to donations).

Transitions like this can be emotional. You're not simply deciding what stays and what goes. You're honoring the people, traditions, and memories that made the house feel like home in the first place.

But there is also something beautiful about watching a home pass from one generation to the next. The next chapter doesn't erase the memories that came before. It creates an opportunity to build new ones.

Our client is now looking forward to a new season in this special place, with the hope of filling it with many more family gatherings, traditions, and memories for the next generation. We're honored to help make room for what's next.

Back-to-school shopping is officially underway, but before you start filling that cart, have you checked what you already have?

In our house, my three kids have to go through certain areas before we buy anything new. It's a simple step, but it can make a big difference.

I shared more about how we approach back-to-school decluttering and how it can help save you money.

Before you shop for back to school, declutter what you already have. Learn how organizing your home can help you avoid duplicates, shop intentionally and save money.

Going through a loved one's belongings after they pass away can be emotional, overwhelming, and complicated.

Recently, we helped a family gather their mother's belongings into one central location so family members could come together and thoughtfully go through everything.

Each person had the opportunity to choose what they wanted to keep, while items that were no longer needed could be donated.

Having a professional organizer there helped bring structure to the process. We created categories, kept things moving, and helped make the decisions feel more manageable.

Sometimes, having an objective person outside the family can make a difficult process a little easier. We can help create order when emotions are high, allowing family members to focus on the memories and the items that hold the most meaning.

There is no one right way to go through a loved one's belongings. But you don't have to do it all alone.

Sometimes organizing isn't about having a picture perfect results. It's about making room for the moments that matter most.

We recently had the privilege of helping a grandmother get her home ready to host a family birthday celebration. Together, we created organized, welcoming spaces so she could focus less on the clutter and more on spending time with the people she loves. We pulled out toys that are usually tucked away to invite special guests to enjoy them! Because when you're hosting family, the goal isn't for everyone to admire your organizing skills. It's to laugh around the table, celebrate milestones, and make memories together.

We're grateful to have played a small part in helping make that possible. Here's to birthdays, family traditions, and homes that bring people together!

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to be part of a Massachusetts organization's wellness program. Over six months, I led 15 presentations and provided 30 hours of one on one coaching, helping employees create systems that reduce stress and make everyday life a little easier.

Yesterday, one of my coaching clients shared something that made my day: "In case you want feedback, I want you to know that typically my husband and I work separately because we just can't do decluttering and organizing together. But we managed to go through the bathroom together, and we were totally in sync."

That isn't just about an organized bathroom. It's about having a shared way to make decisions. It's about reducing stress instead of creating it. And it's about giving people tools they can keep using long after our coaching sessions end.

As a Certified Professional Organizer® (CPO®), moments like these remind me why I love this work. Sometimes the greatest transformation isn't what you can see. It's how people feel, communicate, and work together afterward.

And yes...this photo may look like we're debating who gets the container (we were just having a little fun! ). But it also reminds me that organizing is about so much more than bins and baskets. It's about helping people make confident decisions and creating systems that truly work for their lives.

If managing your kids' clothes feels like a full time job... you're not alone.

Laundry is never just laundry. It's keeping up with growth spurts, seasonal swaps, hand me downs, school clothes, sports uniforms, pajamas, socks that somehow disappear, and trying to remember what still fits.

When the systems aren't working, it can feel like you're constantly playing catch up. That's where a professional organizer can make a real difference.

Together, we create simple, sustainable systems that make laundry easier to put away, help kids find what they need, and make it obvious when it's time to donate, size up, or rotate clothing for a new season.

The goal isn't a picture perfect closet.

It's giving you one less thing to think about so you can spend less time managing clothes and more time with your family.
Because when your home works for you, everyday routines become just a little bit easier.

Sometimes an empty laundry basket is the best reminder of a job well done!
