Clint, founder of Guilford Athletic Center and Recovery Move, shares his favorite core value, Giver's Gain.

Clint wasn't feeling good about himself, wasn't feeling any self-worth and he realized he needed to start giving back to the community around him. Now Clint has found so much joy in giving, and has found that he gets so much in return from the community and the members at his gym.

That same mentality is a core value of BNI. Clint has welcomed our chapter members to his gym not only as members, but as coaches as well where some of our members are given the opportunity to give back. And Clint has found that it comes back around with BNI members being very giving to his Recovery Move nonprofit.

Our BNI chapter has all eyes on ESPN tonight! Our Medicare representative of the group, Sara Taxiltaridis with Bankers Life, is in Williamsport rooting on her boys representing Fairfield in the Little League World Series!

The game is on now, so stop what you're doing and turn on ESPN! And if you or anyone you know is turning 65, Sara is the person all of us trust to send our friends and family to for Medicare planning. Make sure to reach out to her...after the game of course!

Our kitchen designer of the group, Heather with Dovetail Custom Kitchens, shares her long journey with BNI. Through all of life's changes, BNI always remained a part of her life; changing jobs and moving didn't affect how Heather felt about BNI.

So when she started her own business, she knew BNI had to be a part of it. She saw it was effective for her previous employers, and as she had already built relationships within our chapter, she knew it would work well for her at Dovetail.

Tom with Asure Software, our Payroll Services chair, tells us why he just re-upped his BNI membership for another year.

Over the years Tom has built relationships and grown trust with other members of the chapter. Now, BNI referrals are 25% of his business.

We're loving our chapter's new meeting space at Home2 Suites located on 30 Frontage Road, East Haven; right off I-95!

It's really easy to get to every week, we have a great space for our meetings, and to top it all off, the hotel lobby is perfect for our members to have 1-2-1's to get to know each other better right after the meetings. The complimentary coffee is nice too ☕

Awesome to hear from our Growth Coordinator, Joe Perrone of New England Collision again. He just hit a huge milestone, $1 million of business he has referred to other members in our chapter in the past 9 years.

At BNI, we believe that Givers Gain. You come into the group, you get to know, like, and trust the other members, you listen to what they are looking for, and you make an effort to get them what they need. Joe has done an amazing job at doing that as a member of Elm City BNI; it's certainly something to be proud of. Building those relationships has paid off for Joe as well, bringing in $1.3 million for his business in the same timespan.

Thanks for all you do, Joe! Congratulations on the milestone!

It's more than just a business meeting once a week. With a big thanks to our Events Coordinator, Scott with New England Lending, we've been able to create a community where we can do business together, hang out together and build strong, lasting relationships.

Heather with Dovetail Custom Kitchens graciously offered to host this month's event at her kitchen showroom located on the green in Branford. It was an awesome opportunity for members and visitors to check out Dovetail's new showroom and get a better look at what they do.

BNI isn't just a place to pass each other referrals; it's a place to build relationships, to know like and trust each other, to learn from each other, and to understand each other's businesses as well as we can. Once that groundwork is done, the referrals start coming in.

Thank you very much to everyone who joined us on Visitor's Day! A lot of great things happen when you bring more growth minded businesspeople into your network.

Visitors had the opportunity to talk about who they are, what they do, and what kinds of referrals they are looking for to a room full of 40 business professionals. After that we all took the time to connect and start to build this relationships that keep on giving!
