Weird day on Quilt Path. Used a new design, like it but probably should have built the rows larger.
What was weird, and I didn’t see it till the end. Each sewing zone stitched two rows. Start at the left, end right side, drop down and start second row on the right, ending at the left side. What I found was by the end of the first row, one point of the design stitched on the next pattern in the row. Not sure why (and not happy about it) but, the weird part was the second row going to the left, it did not do it. WT?

This quilt is mine, all fabrics purchased with additional discounts on clearance fabric. Don’t you love those sales? I’m a sucker for them. Keepsake Quilting has suckered me in a Lot🤪. I love all three fabrics. I tried adding an accent fabric and wasn’t sure about it. My zoom friends vetoed the accent. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I chose this pattern as it goes together well, and looks nice when done. So, I can’t understand why the quilt is just lacking in excitement. It needed a pop. And I had a few short lived ideas of fussy cutting butterflies and appliquéing them in the light border. Thankfully, my brain questioned it and said no.
This will go to Lynne so I hope enjoys it. Sent it off with Marla today for binding.

Our kitties need their nails trimmed tomorrow morning so, I got Bette’s quilt done for the handoff. So nice doing a smaller quilt. And it is so cute. Mike really liked the backing🤪.

Unlike the last quilt, I won at bobbin chicken. Score!

First of my 2026 quilts pieced, quilted and ready for binding. When piecing I had no trouble matching the blocks but somehow I still had problems when it came time to trim.🤷🏻‍♀️
I matched my rows and pinned but decided I wasn’t going to obsess on how well they matched up. Not something I can usually ignore. But, I think the 1/16-1/8” offsets are just fine.
This was the second on-point quilt I assembled this year. No more, I hope. Thanks Debby for letting me stop by one evening to lay it out and your help finding my joining error of the two halves.

Finally started and finished this king sized quilt. I only had it for about 8-9 weeks but, I just wasn’t motivated to get it on. Then, Nancy’s daughter was here and I had time to get it done so she could take it to her mom. Sure wish I’d gotten it done earlier so it could have traveled with her to its recipient. But, for me, what a relief.

Donna’s panel quilt is done. I’m still moving slower on my quilting than I should be. This was a good sized quilt to motivate. Two more in the queue. And then, time to work on some of my tops. I did 18 last year. I want to beat that this year.

Finally finished Bette’s quilt. I received it just before Christmas with no expected due date. But, little did I know Millie would be down for well over a month. Then, the Olympics held my attention and disrupted my sleep schedule, which is never regular. My knee is doing a bit better so now, it is just getting my motivation up.

I love doing Bette’s quilts. And it is great that she doesn’t care to do big quilts anymore. 🤪 We are both getting older and feeling it.

Quick turnaround on this quilt for Diane. She had purchased the design template but decided it would be too hard on her DSM. I was able to buy the same design for the computer.
Minke backing is so soft but tedious to load. And a different batting. It gave me some tension issues. So glad I tested before quilting. It took quite a few adjustments to have a satisfactory tension.

I’ve had this quilt since before the New Year. There were some issues with it which would have made my quilting it difficult. I ordered some fabric and remade many of the pieced border units. And a few triangles from blocks. This quilt belongs to a very dear friend and I wanted to help her have the best finished product for her husband. But, oh my, I’m so glad it is done.
Millie has been on IL due to her stubbornness. She was having a spa day (I’ve never had a spa day🤪. Okay, I’ve never wanted one but still.) and a new part put on. But, Millie refused to give up her parts. So, she traveled down to the Tri-Cities, where Kathy forced her to give up the part. Came back and the fabric advancer must have been jealous. It decided it didn’t want its motor bushing put back. Broke it. So, we had another time out. All these temperamental issues gave me time to work on this quilt.
With these delays, my knee decided if acting up worked for Millie, why couldn’t my knee try it. By the end of January, I experienced a day where I could barely walk. Made a same day appointment. The PA wanted to see me walk. Halfway through my second step, she slid my chair under me. X-rays showed bone on bone. Two weeks later, I got a steroid shot. We will see how long I can put off replacing it.

Anyway, all these blips this year, has delayed quilting. Now, I have a few in the queue. Time to get moving.

I have such issues with directional fabrics. My mind just rebels against not being upright. Those barns gave me fits🤪. Bette’s gift for a great-? Was fine except the backing was horizontal not vertical! Oh, the horrors😱 - not. 🤣 (I’m working on a quick quilt for guild. Chose my pattern before thing about directional fabrics. I’m being brave and closing off that part of my brain.🤞🏻)
I was talking with another long arm quilter this week and mentioned how surprisingl it is when you think you know the perfect thread to use, until you pull it out and realize there is no way it can work. This quilt was one of those quilts. I will say that I’m glad green didn’t work. This was perfect.

Mary’s second quilt is done. Simple piecing and beautifully done. The backing was very close. I had her bring over more backing fabric, left the length and just joined it. Had about an inch of the pink dotted backing left.
