Celebrating Over 30 Years with Collins — Happy Retirement, Tom!

Today, we’re celebrating a truly special milestone at The Collins Companies as Tom begins his well-earned retirement after over 30 incredible years with us.

Tommy B holds a unique place in our company’s history. He was our very first employee in the state of New York, helping establish a presence that has grown to represent 20% of our total company sales today.

That growth didn’t happen by accident. Tommy B built lasting customer relationships through hard work, consistency, industry knowledge, and a genuine commitment to taking care of people. The impact of those relationships will continue to be felt for years to come.

Even after decades in the business, Tom never stopped adapting. When outside sales changed dramatically following the pandemic, Tom made the most successful transition to the new sales model of anyone on our staff — a testament to his professionalism, determination, and willingness to evolve.

Tommy B, thank you for taking a chance on Collins 32 years ago. Thank you for helping build our New York business from the ground up, for representing our company so well, and for everything you’ve contributed along the way.

You helped build something that will last.

From all of us at The Collins Companies, congratulations on an extraordinary career and a very well-deserved retirement.

Happy Retirement, Tommy B!

You're cutting that valve out one more time either way. Make it the last time with the Conval Camseal.

Cold-cut. Bevel. Preheat. Weld. PWHT. Hardness check. NDE. Days of critical path — for a small-bore drain.

The Conval Camseal is top-entry and cartridge-style. The body stays welded in the line permanently. Renewal is a cartridge swap: about 30 minutes, one mechanic, no welder, no PWHT, no radiography.

Fall shutdown season is coming. Is your plant ready?

A planned outage is one of the best opportunities to inspect the equipment that's difficult—or impossible—to properly service while your plant is running.

That includes critical Clark-Reliance® level and flow indication equipment.

Clark-Reliance products:

• Boiler water level gauges and gauge glass

• Jerguson® level gauges

• Jacoby-Tarbox® sight flow indicators

• Water columns and boiler trim

• Glass, gaskets, seals and replacement parts

• Aging level indication equipment that may be ready for an upgrade

The Collins Companies can help identify the Clark-Reliance® products and replacement components you need and coordinate them with the valves, steam equipment, instrumentation and repair services already on your shutdown list.

We are the the exclusive sales in New York.

Plan it now. Have it on-site before the outage starts.

We are so proud to have our CEO Micaela McDonald sitting on multiple boards within American Supply Association.

It is such an essential for our industry.

"I wish every ASA member understood how much work goes on behind the scenes to move us forward. Our boards, councils, and volunteer leaders continually evaluate the issues and opportunities facing our members and develop tools to help companies recruit, retain, educate, and professionally develop their workforce. ASA is also committed to increasing awareness of the meaningful and rewarding career opportunities available within our Industry. These groups work hard to strengthen our workforce, support our members, and create valuable resources for everyone to use." - The Collins Companies' Kala McDonald.

Coming off of our Executive Committee meeting last week is the perfect time to hear from some members of the committee. Micaela McDonald sits on ASA's Board, the Exec Committee and the Operational Excellence Strategic Council. It's leaders like her who move the needle and continuously improve ASA from the inside out. Thank you, Kala!

That's a wrap on the 2026 American Supply Association (ASA) Executive Committee meeting.

A day and a half in a room with this group is a reminder of how much people in our industry are willing to give.

These are volunteer leaders — they have businesses to run and teams counting on them — and they showed up ready to work, ask hard questions, and make decisions that will make ASA and our industry stronger.

Our President and CEO, Micaela McDonald, was proud to participate and lend her insight to the meeting and appreciates American Supply Association (ASA) commitment and investment in all member futures.

Proud to serve alongside you.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 ASA Executive Committee meeting. These dedicated volunteer leaders spent the past day and a half strategizing, planning, and making important decisions that will strengthen ASA and the industry moving forward. Thank you all for your commitment and investment in our future!

Quick question for the maintenance and procurement folks: how many separate vendors are you managing right now for valve repair, heat exchanger work, hydraulic cylinders, and compressed air service?

If the answer is "more than one," this page is worth a look.

Collins handles all of it — plus nitrogen generation, sanitary tube & fittings, safety valve testing under National Board VR Stamp #179, and cutting tools and abrasives through Waites Industrial.

Eight capabilities. One supplier. One PO.

What is one failed high-pressure steam trap costing your facility?

Depending on operating conditions, it could be hundreds of dollars a week in lost energy — and that's before you factor in the hit to system reliability.
Steam systems rarely fail without warning. You just need the right tools to catch the signs early.

In our latest Collins Vendor Spotlight, we're featuring the Gestra EcoBolt — a real-time steam monitoring solution that gives maintenance teams the visibility they need to catch problems early, cut energy waste, and keep critical systems running at peak performance.
