Updated event schedule/info for Downtown Eaton's Preble County Independence Day/Hometown Heroes Parade after party!

🇺🇸🎉 COMMUNITY COOKOUT following the PREBLE COUNTY HOMETOWN HEROES PARADE🎉🇺🇸

Celebrate America's 250th Birthday in the heart of Preble County!

Join us Saturday, July 4, for a day filled with patriotism, hometown pride and community fun as the Preble County Hometown Heroes Parade makes its way through downtown Eaton before giving way to an afternoon community celebration on the courthouse square.

📍 Parade Lineup: 9:30 a.m. at Star Theatre & Eagles Point
📍 Parade Step-Off: 10:30 a.m. through downtown Eaton
📍 Ceremony in front of the courthouse including the National Anthem and a reading of the Declaration of Independence.
📍 Community Cookout & After-Party: Noon-3 p.m. at the Preble County Courthouse. Cheer on your favorites to win the apple pie eating and hotdog eating contests. Listen to the awesome sounds of The Flannels!

After the parade, head to the courthouse plaza and keep the celebration going with:

🌭 Hot dogs or hamburgers, chips and a drink available for a donation, courtesy of Downtown Eaton
🎈 Kids activities, vendors and family fun
🎶 Community fellowship and patriotic celebration
🇺🇸 A chance to celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary together

Whether you're marching in the parade, cheering from the sidelines or simply looking for a great way to spend Independence Day with friends and neighbors, everyone is invited to join the festivities.

🇺🇸🎆 COMMUNITY FREEDOM FEST IS LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY! 🎆🇺🇸

The countdown is on! In less than two weeks, we'll gather at Seven Mile Park for Community Freedom Fest as we celebrate America's 250th Anniversary with an evening full of hometown pride, family fun and patriotic spirit.

Join us Thursday, July 2, from 5-10 p.m. for:
🎶 Live entertainment from Leeann and Dillon, Eaton Area Community Choir and Tyler Michael Walton & The Mayflower Satchel
🐕 A fan-favorite K-9 demonstration
🍔 Delicious food vendors
🛍️ Community organizations and vendors
🎇 A spectacular fireworks display at dusk

The deadline to sign up for Downtown Eaton's first-ever Old-Fashioned Hot Dog Eating Contest and Apple Pie Eating Contest is quickly approaching — and we still need competitors!

Do you have the appetite to claim bragging rights and become part of a new Independence Day tradition in downtown Eaton?

Join us Saturday, July 4, immediately following the Preble County Independence Day Parade, for an afternoon packed with fun and patriotic celebration as we mark America's 250th birthday.

PREBLE COUNTY RESIDENTS - Our county is now under an ENHANCED RISK (Level 3 out of 5) for severe weather this evening an into the overnight hours. While we could have some earlier storms, the most severe weather is expected to move in between 11pm and 2am for our area.

🏈 Don't Miss Out — Youth Flag Football Registration Is Underway! 🏈

There's still time to sign up for the Preble County NFL FLAG Football League, powered by Eaton Parks & Recreation! Registration is currently open and will continue through July 17.

Open to boys and girls in kindergarten through 6th grade, this fun, fast-paced league emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship and safe play while helping young athletes develop their football skills.

📅 Registration deadline: July 17
🏈 Grades: K-1, 2-3, and 4-6
💲 Fee: $90 City of Eaton residents* | $99 non-residents
🎽 Registration includes a jersey and flag belt
📍 Season begins in late August
