A little update from Uplift’s owner. 🤍
When I opened Uplift, I was a therapist building the kind of mental health practice I wanted to see in our community. As that vision grew, it eventually led to Elevate Health Collective.
Over the past year, I’ve also been figuring out where *I* fit when I’m no longer sitting in the therapist’s chair.
When I stepped away from clients, life with young kids, financial realities, and the demands of building a business had changed my capacity. I realized I couldn’t give clinical work the emotional presence I wanted to give it, and that was hard to admit.
I didn’t call the decision permanent because I genuinely didn’t know if it was. In hindsight, I realize that may have left some people wondering if I was coming back.
So, an overdue update: while my kids are young, I don’t currently plan to return to individual therapy.
I’m not leaving mental health. My role in it is changing.
Uplift now has incredible therapists doing the clinical work I once did, while I focus on supporting the practice and building the bigger vision behind Elevate.
And this year, I started something new: esthetics school. ✨
It may sound strange to step away from one thing while taking on another, but I’ve learned that different work asks different things of us. Right now, learning, creating, and building are where I have the most to give.
I’ve always been interested in what it really means to care for ourselves, and I think that’s the bigger question I want Elevate to explore-Uplift as just one part of the whole.
Self-care doesn’t have to come from loving everything about who you are, or from trying to fix everything you don’t. You can care for yourself exactly where you are while still making room for where you’re becoming.
That’s the space I want Elevate to be in. Excited for what's to come.🤍
