Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak with the Wausau chapter of Polka Dot Powerhouse about a topic that's close to my heart: perfectionism.
Perfectionism often disguises itself as "high standards," but beneath the surface, it can fuel overwork, self-criticism, and ultimately burnout. It convinces us that nothing is ever quite good enough, keeping us stuck in a cycle of doing more while feeling less fulfilled.
My core message was simple: Progress beats perfection. One step at a time is still forward. Growth doesn't require perfection, it requires action, learning, and the courage to keep going.
This conversation is part of my broader work helping individuals and organizations prevent burnout and build sustainable success. Through keynotes, leadership workshops, and coaching, I help high-achievers redefine success, strengthen resilience, and perform at a high level without sacrificing themselves in the process.
Thank you to the Wausau chapter for the warm welcome and thoughtful discussion. The conversations after the presentation reminded me that so many people are carrying the weight of impossible expectations, and that there is another way.
