🐭 Friday Pest Tip: Don’t Let Mice Make Themselves at Home!

As summer winds down and cooler weather gets closer, mice start looking for warm, protected places to settle in. Unfortunately, your garage, basement, attic or walls can look pretty inviting!

A little prevention now can help avoid a bigger problem later:

🏠 Check for cracks, gaps and possible entry points
🗑️ Keep garbage and pet food in tightly sealed containers
🪵 Store firewood away from the house
🍂 Clean up yard debris and overgrown areas near your foundation
👀 Watch for droppings, scratching sounds or other signs of activity

Here’s the crazy part: a mouse can squeeze through an opening only about ¼ inch wide! 😳

🐝 PROTECTING OUR POLLINATORS 🌼

This little guy decided to hitch a ride with us today—and gave us the perfect opportunity to talk about something that’s important to us at MacLaughlin Pest Control.

We do not spray or intentionally kill honey bees. 🐝❤️

Honey bees are incredibly important pollinators and play a vital role in our environment and food supply. As a pest control company, we believe responsible pest management isn’t about killing every insect we encounter—it’s about knowing what we’re dealing with, whether it actually poses a threat, and when it should simply be left alone.

When honey bees are found around a home or business, our first recommendation is always to protect the colony whenever possible and involve a local beekeeper if relocation is necessary.

Being environmentally conscious means balancing effective pest control with responsible treatment practices. Sometimes the best treatment is no treatment at all. 🌎🌻

So if you see a honey bee buzzing around your flowers, let her work. She’s not a pest—she’s doing an important job. 🐝
