Late summer it’s common to see “scum” buildup on a small water hole or pond. This is from breakdown of organics but can be easily broken apart and taken care of with Catapult from EHD-fense.

Often I hear from DIY PlotHeads that their food plots failed due to lack of rain or germination. This plot sat for FOUR WEEKS without rain and once that rain hit the plot popped. Now heavy morning dews and occasional rains will keep this plot growing and flourishing.

Many dealt with clover plots burning up this year in the drought. Don’t stress and try to replant. Simply apply phosphorus and potassium rich fertilizer on it as well as overseed right before a rain and the plot will thank you.

Another method is to apply liquid fertilizers during the drought period to give the plants the nutrients they need.

This coming year will be all applying humics to the soil to help break the soil up as well as retain more moisture.

More and more deer are being found and reported across Washington County, Wisconsin. DNR has confirmed that these deer are in fact succumbing to Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease.

Maintaining your ponds, tubs, waterholes, or whatever you call your deer drinking source is a must when it comes to providing quality water for your deer.

This small deer pond received its first treatment today and we will update with the progress in a couple of weeks.
