MainStreet Edgerton

MainStreet Edgerton Mainstreet Edgerton serves our community by acting as a hub for community ideas, activities, and information.

Our goal is to transform their visions into action, contributing to the growth and prosperity of our town as the best place to live and work. Chamber Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 4:30 pm at the Cup of Joy Coffee Shop. Edgerton is a small community, and most people wear many hats. The Chamber is a lot like that… in our charter it states, “This organization shall act as a

clearing house for common ideas, activities, and information and to adapt and translate them into action. This is to be a service to the people of our area who are making Edgerton Ohio the best place to live and earn a living.”

The charter was signed July 8, 1976 organized by a group volunteers who had existed for many years prior to this time as a businessmen’s club; they were interested in improving the cultural and economic welfare of Edgerton, Ohio by offering leadership in co-ordination with education and service programs of public welfare, social, educational and community development. Over the years, Chamber has been active in many things. When a local boy was killed at an unmarked railroad crossing, they initiated a petition to have signal lights and crossing guard arms at each railroad crossing. They have spearheaded efforts to improve the phone system, worked to keep the Post Office open more hours, assisted both the school and village to pass levies for construction and operation of the schools and village, and in the formation of various support groups for the community; for example, the Edgerton Recreation Association, the public library, the Edgerton Area Foundation, furnished seed money and help to the Edgerton Rotary Club establishing construction of Miller Park and the Pavilion, offered motivational programs for students in high school. To “adapt and translate” ideas and activities into action means we are involving others to obtain the desired results. Today, anyone with an interest in supporting the community, staying current with the activities in Edgerton can become a member of the Chamber of Commerce. The Edgerton Chamber is a member of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, so we are current on the state basis also. Because dues do not cover the expense of operating the organization, it becomes necessary to plan other activities that bring the community together such as the Edgerton Homecoming. This is an opportunity for any business, club or organization to host a booth in the park, sell an item, display a product, or offer some type of entertainment for the children or others. Any income returns to the community to support their activities. The Festival is a great time for people to return to visit with family and friends. Other community events hosted by the Chamber are the Easter Egg Hunt; the town wide garage sales in the summer; a community Trunk-or-Treat; and Santa comes to town each year with goodies for the children and a photo taking opportunity.

Every volleyball tournament has a moment.

A diving save that shouldn't have been possible. A teammate laughing after missing an easy shot. A group of friends deciding they might actually have a chance to win the whole thing.

The Homecoming Volleyball Tournament isn't just about competition. It's about spending a summer Saturday with friends, making memories, and enjoying one of Edgerton's favorite traditions.

If you've been thinking about putting together a team, now is a great time to start making those calls. https://tinyurl.com/2026ehcvolleyball

Before America was a nation, it was a collection of communities.

Farmers worked their fields. Merchants opened their shops. Families raised children. Neighbors gathered in churches, homes, and town squares.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, ordinary people were building lives and communities while extraordinary events unfolded around them.

The story of America wasn't written only by famous names in history books. It was also written by parents, workers, business owners, soldiers, and citizens who believed they could help build something that would outlast them.

As we prepare to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary, we're reminded that history is really a collection of human stories. Stories of sacrifice. Stories of perseverance. Stories of people investing in a future they might never fully see.

In many ways, that's still the story of America today.

What part of our nation's story has always inspired you most?

Everybody loves the shiny paint.

But the guys and gals who pull know that's not what this sport is about.

It's the late nights in the shop.

It's the parts that didn't fit the first time.

It's the broken bolts, busted knuckles, and "one more thing" that turned into three more hours.

It's the text messages asking, "You coming Saturday?"

It's loading up before daylight and hoping all the hard work pays off when the chain gets tight.

On June 27, the sled drops in Edgerton.

Photo dump from tonight's Munchies. Lupita's Mexican was amazing, as usual. (If you've never tried the burrito, it is highly recommended). Pink Penguin Premium Ice Cream was as sweet as always. (The blueberry lemon crunch was great!). The REC Dayventures obstacle course was a big hit too. Christopher Bercaw made animals, swords, and lots of other things appear from balloons. The kids loved them. There were some amazing things available in Vendor's Alley tonight along with some treats and flowers as well.

Next week, Home Plate Kitchen Ministries and Catering will be setting up to serve you some delicious food. And The Hicksville Bank will welcome our young entrepreneurs as kids from all over Edgerton descend on Vendor's Alley and set up shop to sell you their wares.

Hey Kids! There's no registration needed. Just get your table, make your creations, and come up and sell! Who knows, you may win a prize for the best booth, or the best creation, or for just being you!

Of course, it takes the community to make this happen, so plan to come up and support those kids by buying their creations. Who knows? You may find a new favorite lemonade, a cookie that you've never tried, or that piece of art that fits just right in that special place you've been saving.
