WMILL: We began doing business as Kendrick Forest Products in 1983 as a logging and sawmill company with 12 employees sawing just 700,000 bf per year. Today, production is over 17 million bf per year, and there are over 150 employees working in all areas of the company. Today, the sawmill is the largest sawmill in the state, producing Walnut, Red Oak, White Oak, Hard Maple, Soft Maple, Red Elm, Grey Elm, Hickory, Ash, Cherry, and Basswood that grows abundantly in the hills of of this Northeast Iowa region. In 2021, Kendrick Forest Products expanded its production and capacity by adding an additional sawmill in Muscatine, IA. DRY KILN: In 1987 Kendrick, Inc. purchased dry kilns and began drying lumber for furniture, flooring, and cabinet manufacturers. Today, we produce over 3 million bf per year and ship product worldwide to over 20 different countries.

Last week, Thomas, Jeremy, Mark, and Damian represented KFP at RTA's Tie Grading Seminar in Fulton, KY. From classroom education to hands-on activities at the Stella-Jones plant, the guys walked away with new knowledge on how to improve our railroad tie production. Yesterday, we were fortunate enough to host the 4th Annual High-Demand Skilled Trades Career Fair in partnership with Delaware County Economic Development, NICC, and Experience Edgewood.

This year, 13 schools and more than 100 students visited KFP to connect with 15 local businesses, learning firsthand about career pathways, essential skills, and job opportunities in the skilled trades. We were also honored to welcome Lt. Governor Chris Cournoyer, who stopped by to experience the event and see the value of work-based learning opportunities in action.

It is always encouraging to see the enthusiasm and curiosity students bring to this event each year. Their eagerness to explore career opportunities reinforces the importance of showcasing the many rewarding paths available right here in Northeast Iowa.

About 100 students got a hands-on look at skilled trades Tuesday, as employers look to the next generation for unfilled positions.

Join our team! We are seeking a full-time truck driver.

Job Overview:
Drive and operate a semi as part of our fleet of drivers hauling logs, lumber, mulch, sawdust, etc. Drive to and from the job site multiple times per day to haul product in and out of our sawmill. We typically travel within a 150-mile radius of Edgewood. This is an at-home every night job. KFP provides the truck and has team members to help with maintenance.
