September is Su***de Prevention Month.
For more than 22 years, I’ve kept a very personal part of my story private. When I was 18 years old, I lost my father to su***de.
It’s something I rarely speak about—not because I’m ashamed, but because some wounds are difficult to put into words.
Because of the love, trust, and support so many of you have shown me and my family these last months, I finally feel like we’ve created an environment where I can open up about this part of my life.
I know what it’s like to be the son left behind. I know the questions, the pain, and the impact su***de leaves on a family.
If telling my story helps even one person realize they’re not alone, ask for help, or choose to stay, then opening this chapter of my life is worth it.
Check on your people. Listen without judgment. Love a little harder.
And if you’re struggling, please know: your life matters, and your story isn’t over.
Thank you to Blooming Counseling Center for all that you do, & for teaming up with me to spread awareness! 🙏🏻
