🚑 IMPORTANT TEXAS MEDICAID AMBULANCE RATE UPDATE
Texas ambulance providers — there is a significant reimbursement update coming September 1, 2026.
The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) has announced new reimbursement rates for ambulance procedure codes for dates of service on or after September 1, 2026.
📈 Some of the updated rates include:
🔹 A0425 – Ground Mileage: +32.09%
🔹 A0426 – ALS Non-Emergency: +47.12%
🔹 A0427 – ALS Emergency: +51.87%
🔹 A0428 – BLS Non-Emergency: +22.60%
🔹 A0429 – BLS Emergency: +51.88%
🔹 A0433 – ALS Level II: +51.87%
🔹 A0434 – Specialty Care Transport: +51.87%
⭐ For non-emergency BLS transportation, this is especially important. Providers should make sure their billing systems, fee schedules, and reimbursement expectations are updated for claims with dates of service beginning September 1.
📌 Important: Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) may have different administrative requirements, so providers should continue verifying the specific member's plan requirements.
