What if the key to Financial Confidence wasn’t found in a classroom but at the breakfast table?

Since I was 3 years old, my dad has been teaching me about money over breakfast. A tradition we still carry on every Saturday morning.
Not with stress. Not with shame. But with a simple conversation, a napkin sketch, and the wisdom that money should be easy to talk about.

Today, on his birthday, I want to honor the Legacy he’s built, not just in our family, but in the way I teach Financial Education today.

Because of him, I believe:
- Money talks should feel safe, not stressful.
- A simple conversation can shape generations.
- Financial education starts at the table, not just in the classroom.

At 79 years young, his Voice, his wisdom are still shaping lives. And now, I get to share it with the world.

I didn’t step onto the TEDx stage because life paused.
I stepped onto it because the best leaders don’t wait for calm they create clarity in the middle of change.

The accountant in me would much rather stay behind the numbers. But experience has taught me that leadership sometimes means stepping forward and using your voice when it matters most.

Being in Accounting & Finance for 3 decades along with being 3rd generation who has rebuilt after unexpected life changes, I’ve seen how wealth education & honest conversations can transform the way people lead, communicate, and move forward with confidence.

That’s why I’m passionate about helping make money conversations easier because clearer conversations create stronger teams, healthier relationships, and better decisions.

Still in awe of the opportunity to stand at TEDxUCO at the University of Central Oklahoma, where I earned my MBA to share this message.

Leadership isn’t about waiting for perfect conditions.
It’s about showing up with purpose when it counts.

Throughout history, it's been the same story—the spoils go to the problem solvers.

Think about it...

What did Steve Jobs do? He solved a problem—he removed the restrictions that had been holding back personal computing.

What did Bill Gates do? He solved a problem—he created an operating system that made personal computing accessible to everyone.

What did Mark Zuckerberg do? He solved a problem—he created a social network that connected people all over the world.

And what do they all have in common? They were the first to solve specific, gigantic problems.

So if you want to get wealthy, find a big problem and solve it. The bigger the problem, the greater your potential rewards.

Not man-made currency, but the everlasting kind

Like Stephen in Acts 7, even when facing death,
he stayed committed to his calling.
That’s the kind of faith I want to live with.
Not counting the cost in dollars, but in devotion.

Today, choose what pleases God and hold fast to it (Isaiah 56:4).
Because commitment isn’t just a Word, it’s your Wealth. 💛

For years, I chased more. More income, more approval, more validation.
But no amount of earning can fill what only alignment can.

When I finally started asking, “God, what do You want me to build?”
That’s when the peace showed up before the paycheck did.

Earning that pleases God isn’t about working harder, it’s about working with Him.
When you align your earning with obedience, He becomes the source of your resources.

Because earning from applause will exhaust you.
But earning from alignment will expand you.
