Ingredients:
1 lb. imitation crab legs, sliced into small pieces
1 lb. elbow macaroni
1 stick of butter
2 (8 oz.) packs of cream cheese
2 bunches of green onions, sliced (discard the roots and save the tips for regrowing)
1 cup mayonnaise
½ cup sour cream
1 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
2 stalks of celery, sliced (optional)
½ tbsp. garlic powder
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
½ cup panko bread crumbs
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the macaroni according to the package instructions.
While the macaroni is cooking, in a separate pan, melt the butter over low heat.
Add the sliced imitation crab, cream cheese, sliced green onions, mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), and celery slices (if using) to the melted butter. Stir to combine and cook until the cheese and butter are melted and the mixture is heated through.
Drain the cooked macaroni and add it to the crab and cheese mixture, stirring to combine.
Mix the shredded mozzarella cheese and Dijon mustard together in a small bowl.
If desired, mix the panko bread crumbs with the shredded mozzarella and Dijon mustard mixture in a separate bowl.
Spread the mac and cheese mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Sprinkle the cheese and mustard mixture (and bread crumb mixture, if using) over the top of the mac and cheese, spreading it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the mac and cheese is heated through.
Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Bake up a batch tonight and enjoy your delicious creamy imitation crab mac and cheese with a spicy kick and crispy celery slices! 🧀🍴
