Service and Ashes to Sea Ceremony for fallen SEAL, UDT (Frogman), Scout & Raider, SWCC ...active and veteran who has passed in the last year.
Basic info:
Who: All may attend. No Press or TV.
What: Memorial Service and Ashes to Sea Ceremony for fallen SEAL, UDT (Frogman), Scout & Raider, SWCC ...active and veteran who has passed in the last year.
Where: Behind BUD/S, just north of the rope climb on the beach.
When: Sunday, 21 August 2016 from 0700 to 0745 (West Coast Reunion)
Why: To memorialize those that have fallen, active duty and veteran, in the past year.
How: All people to be responsible for getting on base. If es**rt needed and/or you have additional questions, please contact Mike Johnson at [email protected]
* Parking: Behind Country Store and walk to the beach and head south on to the area behind BUD/S. Special assistance needs to be worked through Mike Johnson.
* Mike Johnson is the POC on the beach.
* At 0700, Chaplain Kim from NAVSPECWARCEN will perform a small memorial ceremony and read each name. The "Hell Week" bell is used to ring out each teammate one last time after their name is read.
* Ashes will be placed in a waterproof case.
* Volunteer Teammates will safely & securely hit the surf and swim encased ashes to a waiting civilian vessel outside surf zone for final internment (scattering) off BUD/S Beach. (5 miles offshore)

The passing of a teammate and/or loved one can be one of life's saddest occasions. We wish to gather and happily honor and celebrate those who have passed in the last year. This service is one of the few times family members and former teammates can meet to share positive memories about their Father/Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Friend, etc. Please attend this service to honor and celebrate our fallen teammates.
