Trend: 1,629 total head sold.
185 packer cows and bulls sold steady to $5 - $10 lower when compared to last week.

It takes a big good calf to make big money! When compared to last week, all steers sold steady with great demand. Heifers sold $5 - $15 lower. Lesser quality or fat fleshy calves sold $10 - $20 lower. Quality and pounds are making the most dollars!

Sale highlights from today:
*405 lb. steer@ $4.45 per lb. brought $1,802, *505 lb. steer @ $3.90 per Ib. brought $1,970, *625 lb. steer@$3.48 per lb. brought $2,175, °715 lb. steer @ $3.23 per Ib. brought $2,309, *550 lb. heifer @ $5.15 per lb. brought $2,832, and *650 lb. heifer @ $4.55 per Ib. brought $2,958.

With the talk of large imports of beef, the future's markets have taken a heavy hit. All classes of calves sold $10 - $20 lower today.

Our hearts go out to the Jenkins family of East Bernard. Three young men are now left to face this world without the steady hand and support of their parents. We would like to extend our condolences and show a small token of support. 11 AM Tuesday, August 25th, El Campo Livestock Exchange will be selling this 3 year old Ranch Gelding! All proceeds of the Horse will be funded to the Jenkins Brothers Benefit Fund Account. Donations will be accepted on sale day!
