🚒 Thank you to everyone who came out to visit us at the Fire Department Open House! 🚒

We hope you enjoyed getting an up-close look at all of our engines, taking a tour of the station, and participating in the activities we had throughout the day. We also hope you enjoyed getting to see a vehicle extrication demonstration and learning a little more about what we do.

🔥 Strike team Timber Fire 🔥

We would like to take a moment to recognize and show our appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice of our firefighters currently assigned to the Timber Fire.

This marks our third rotation of firefighters being sent out to support wildland fire operations at the Timber Fire.

We are especially proud of one of our crews:

👨‍🚒 Captain Avila
👨‍🚒 Engineer Romero
👨‍🚒 Firefighter Cardenas

This crew has already spent 12 days on assignment and is currently assigned to recuperating hose and continuing to support fire operations

We are also proud of single resource:

👨‍🚒 Firefighter/Paramedic Jorge Villalobos

Assigned to the Timber Fire as a Line Paramedic Trainee, providing medical support and care to firefighters who may need assistance while working in challenging conditions.

To all of our firefighters serving on this assignment: Thank you for your hard work, dedication, courage, and sacrifice.

On August 27, Captain Robert Gonzalez deployed to the Timber Fire as a Fireline Paramedic Single Resource, supporting firefighters working on the front lines of the wildfire.

Fireline Paramedics provide an important layer of medical support during wildland fire operations. Working in remote and challenging terrain, they remain close to crews operating on the fireline and are prepared to provide immediate advanced life support for injuries, heat-related illness, medical emergencies, and other incidents that can occur during extended firefighting operations.

Assignments like these require firefighters to spend extended periods away from their families and home departments while assisting communities and fire crews throughout California.
Today, after serving on the Timber Fire since August 27, Captain Gonzalez is coming home.

Three of our firefighters👨‍🚒 have been deployed for 9 days already on a strike team assisting with wildfire operations.🔥

They were initially assigned to the GANN Fire 🔥 in Calaveras County, working 12-hour shifts following dozers and monitoring for any new fire activity.

They were then reassigned to the TIMBER Fire 🔥 , where they’ve been working 24-hour shifts on progressive hose lays and mop-up along the fire’s edge.🚒

We’re proud of their hard work and dedication while serving alongside crews from across the state. Stay safe out there! 🤙🏽🔥
