On October 3, I’ll be participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's in Sacramento.

This cause is very personal to me. I walk in memory of my grandmother, 💜Cécile💜, who lived with Alzheimer's disease, and my mother-in-law, Jeannine, whom we lost in February.

As the owner of Seniors Helping Seniors® El Dorado County & Folsom, I have the privilege of meeting families every day who are navigating the challenges of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. I see the strength, love, and dedication of spouses, children, and friends who work tirelessly to support their loved ones. I also see how important companionship, support, and community are throughout that journey.

That's why this walk means so much to me. It's an opportunity to honor those we have loved, support those currently affected, and help raise funds for research, education, and family support services.

If you would like to support this important cause, I would be grateful for any donation. Every contribution helps bring us one step closer to a world without Alzheimer's and other dementia.

Thank you for your support and for helping make a difference. 💜

💔Today, we remember September 11.💔

Where were you when you heard the news?

At the time, I was a preschool teacher in France. It was around 3:00 PM. The school day was filled with laughter, and the children were outside enjoying recess. While they played, a couple of teachers gathered in the staff room, where the radio was always on in the background.

Suddenly, a colleague came rushing in. There was confusion and disbelief. The Twin Towers in New York had been hit.

Was it an accident? An attack? No one knew.

Even though New York was thousands of miles away, we immediately felt connected to the tragedy. Our hearts went out to the people affected. Recess ended, and we returned to our classrooms. We did our best not to show our fear to the children, but a sense of uncertainty had settled over the world.

Parents began arriving early to pick up their children. There was fear, concern, and a feeling that nowhere seemed completely safe anymore. Police officers were present outside the school to help reassure families.

When I returned home that evening, the television showed the same heartbreaking images over and over, just as they did here in the United States. It was impossible to look away.

It was a day that changed the world forever.

Even 25 years later, people across the globe still remember exactly where they were and how they felt when they heard the news.

Today, we honor the lives that were lost, the families forever changed, and the courage of the first responders who ran toward danger to help others.

🙏 Never forget.
🕊️ Always remember.
❤️ Honor the lives lost.
🇺🇸 God bless America.
