This week we have guys scattered from Jerico Springs to Oak Grove, Mo including a few places in between. Four different sites to be exact.

The last two days Ashton has cut in final grade for the parking area at a job in Clinton. We took full advantage of our new GPS gear and also rented a dozer with autograde technology. This new stuff is a game changer for efficiency. The site is ready for the exterior concrete crew.

*As always, I'm terrible at taking photos or videos. Maybe I'll get lucky and some of the others have documented it for me and I ill get to add some more photos later..

*** We have a winner, Jennifer Roe! I will be reaching out through Messenger now. ***

Armband GIVEAWAY!

It is that time of year again! The El Dorado Springs 145th Picnic is here. It is a great time to connect with friends, enjoy some rides, and eat an abundance of great food... especially tacos from Taqueria MaryChuy and corndogs from the Optimist Club of El Dorado Springs.

I want to thank the community for your continued support. I love our little town and the people in it. In return, we are doing a giveaway and (shamelessly) taking the opportunity to advertise in the process.

Please follow the directions in the robot-generated photo.
(First time using Skynet for me, and I don't like it.)

I will announce the winner by editing the original post.

*** Please be aware of scams! I will not ask for personal information. Look for the blue checkmark on my page. I pay for this certification because fake or spam accounts have been created to imitate my business in the past.

The whole crew has been putting in a lot of work the last few weeks fitting in as much progress as possible between the rains. We currently have 5 commercial jobs in progress and the guys are working hard to keep on schedule with less than favorable conditions.

Today Ashton and Alex are laying in our final subgrade on a Performance Arts Center with a sunken floor auditorium. Steven and Dylan are performing the support roles of hauling rock and keeping equipment moving. This particular project has taken a lot of energy over the last few weeks but we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Our JD skidsteer ran by Ashton has our new GPS guidance technology and he is laying in accurate lifts with no other assistance. Before GPS we had a grade/ rod man standing onsite guiding in lifts all day with paint and hand signals.

New gear alert!

Over the last few weeks we have been getting use to a new piece of gear/ technology: a GPS Base and Rover system! It's not a big piece of iron that moves dirt but it is just as important as our jobs get more complex. It allows us to layout designs faster, check grades, and better control our sites.

What does this mean for you as a customer? Faster and more accurate work. Greater accuracy in bids or estimating. More knowledge of your site.

Here is an example: we recently bid a larger concrete tear out and replacement job for a state agency. Turns out the the engineers given quantities was roughly 40% less than actually described to be replaced. The difference in this mistake was $200,000+

Another example: we are in the planning and budgeting stages for repairing a lake dam that has failed. The dam is over 360' long and 30' + tall, it creates a 8+ acre lake so it isn't very small. A section has washed out and created dangerous slides in the face. Before I had to eyeball distance, use satellite imaging, and my best guess for quantities. Now I am able to get out the rover, shoot points within an inch accuracy, and get detailed quantities for what is needed to repair. On a project with this much dirt to move it can make a big difference.

As time goes on we will integrate it into our equipment to add greater efficiency. We have already installed a system in our skidloader which reduces rework and the need for a grade checker.

More to follow.

Here at Clear Creek, we have two team members who are past Marine Corps veterans. This day means something to us; today and every other day of the year, we remember those who are no longer here. Today is not a day to take for granted, nor just a day off from work; it is a day to remember why we have the ability to enjoy a great, free life. For generations, we have had great men and women answer the call of freedom for the masses, even though it meant losing their own. Remember the sacrifice these men and women have made. Remember the families with an empty seat at the table.

UPDATED: PRICING BELOW. After some test runs I was able to reduce price below original estimate.

๐ŸŒž Spring is upon us! ๐ŸŒฑ
Pool filling/ Water hauling!

This year we will offer pool filling using our ๐Ÿš’ water truck. ๐Ÿ’ง No this won't be the cheaper than filling from your drilled well or municipal tap. However this will be safer for your well's pump/ aquifer and faster than a 1/2" garden hose. ๐Ÿšฟ

Our truck carries 2,000 gallons. I am currently testing a high-volume sediment filter although I don't think it is needed. The water will be sourced from your local municipal water system. It will not be treated any different than normal tap water and will need to undergo a normal pool treatment/ chemical plan during startup by the customer.

PRICING:
-$150 per 2000 gallons for total order UNDER 6,000 gallons.
-$130 per 2000 gallons for total order OVER 6,000 gallons.
Pricing is good within 10 miles of El Dorado Springs, MO.

We will serve other areas, but pricing will be on a case by case basis.

If you are interested, reach out soon This truck travels travels 150+ miles to our job sites and will fill pools only on select days.

Also, I should note SOME local fire departments haul water for fund raising/ donations. You are more than welcome to see if they can help before contacting us.

The City of Joplin have been working on a plan for a new ADA walking trail at Grand Falls since 2022. The trail will be roughly 1.1 miles long following a section of Shoal Creek. This year they are able to start making some headway.

Clear Creek was selected to complete Phase 1: Tree Clearing. Our contract start date was March 2nd. Due to permit restrictions from state and federal regulations our portion had to be completed by March 15th. The crew mobilized on Tuesday March 3rd and we had everything done by March 10th. We fought weather and wet conditions but we still beat our expected timeline. We had roughly 220 man hours in the project including administrative work and trail surveying.

Our phase included removing trees and thick brush along the 1.1 mile trail at a width of 32 feet. Some portions had very little material to remove while much of it had mid to large sized trees. Where safe to do so the trees were fell using our Harleman Treesaw. Other places near roadways where cut by chainsaw and processed. A section of the trail was in a flooded area and required to be done mostly by hand. Per project and state requirements all material was left on site and "ran wild" outside of the clearing limits for purpose of wildlife habitat. Stumps where left in place per project requirements and will be removed, if necessary, in the next phase of the project. Some of the site isn't "pretty" but the area was not raked or excessively disturbed to reduce erosion as dictated by the contract and permit requirements.

We were also responsible for providing traffic control, when necessary, and surveying the trail using gps per engineered plans.

Thank you to the whole Clear Creek team for the great work!

Here are some before, during, and after photos of a project that we performed with Koehn Building Systems. We were responsible for tree removal, site excavation, base pad construction, and rough grading of the parking area.

During our site survey, we discovered a 6" fire suppression line supplying a private hydrant that went underneath the building's footprint. It was not noted in the plans, and it was decided to cap and abandon the line. During excavation, we discovered soft soils caused by a failed clay tile drain. All poor materials were removed and replaced with aggregate per the engineer's recommendations.

The whole crew attended a Prescribed Burn workshop today to better understand the benefits from fire for land and habitat management. This included home study, classroom instruction, and a live fire evolution.
