Arkansas Women's Business Center The Arkansas Women’s Business Center (AWBC) helps women-owned small businesses start, grow, and compete in the global market.

The AWBC enables and empowers women entrepreneurs through advocacy, outreach, education and support. The AWBC is a non-profit organization located in El Dorado, AR and serving the state of Arkansas. Funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the AWBC offers all of its services at no cost and operates off donations and matching funds. The donations assist AWBC in providing the training and services for small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Yesterday we started our day with an inspirational speaker: Kristina Madison with WalMart Home Office. She shared her business journey, her struggles, and how she overcame everything thrown at her. She also talked about all the job opportunities open to them at WalMart from a buyer and pharmacist to a pilot or Operations. The sky is the limit.

These students left empowered, encouraged and all asked her amazing questions!

Yesterday the students had a special guest, Alan Meadows, who is a Commercial Loan Officer at First Financial Bank.
He gave the students great tips on setting S.M.A.R.T goals along with ways to maximize their time.

Our last business we visited with was Katie Farrin wThe 1988e 1988 and Webster Senn with Four Points Coffee Co.

Thank you to Henley Feed and Farm Supply for being our first stop for our Youth Entrepreneurship Camp Field Trip.
The students got an awesome tour, learned a lot about supply and demand, and what sets small businesses apart from big box stores like Henley Feed and Farm Supply.

Yesterday, we kicked off our 8th Annual Youth Entrepreneurship Camp with South Arkansas College’s Upward Bound students.

They learned about the Lean Canvas model and we had a special guest, David Sanders of Winrock International, who discussed The Importance of Entrepreneurship and what that means for local communities.
