For nearly 30 years, Christina Mintz—known affectionately as “Yaya”—has provided trusted, loving care to children and families throughout Reno County.

What began as a one-month trial became a lifelong passion. Today, Yaya is not only caring for children from infancy through their school years—she is also welcoming the children of parents she once cared for herself.

Her dependable, nurturing care helps working families thrive, and her commitment to serving families with varying schedules has made her an essential part of the Reno County child care community.

Through the Reno County Child Care Task Force and as a CACFP participant, Christina continues to grow as a provider while helping strengthen support for child care programs across the region.

As one family shared, “Yaya is superwoman. She loves all the kids so much, and it shows in everything she does.”

Thank you, Christina, for the compassion, consistency, and care you bring to every child and family you serve. You are truly deserving of recognition!

Home Providers: Annual Update Packets are on the way!

Each family must complete an annual update, and QCS updates every August. Every year, several forms are returned for missing or incomplete details — let’s avoid that!

Common mistakes to double-check:
🔴 Arrival/Departure times missing
🟡 Days of care not completed or inconsistent
🟢 Meals served not marked or incomplete
🟣 Parent/guardian signature or date missing or altered

🚫 No white-out or correction tape may be used
✏️ Parents must complete the form — providers may only add their name at the top

Packets will be mailed to each Home Provider in July. Please do not give them to parents until August 1, 2026.

Let’s work together to keep your reimbursements on track!

Our CACFP team includes 3 dedicated employees, 2 contracted interpreters, and 1 amazing volunteer who help child care providers stay supported and compliant with USDA nutrition guidelines.
The Meals on Wheels program is powered by a long‑standing contractor of 12 years who brings reliability, heart, and consistency to every visit.
