Over a century of industrial history. Ten buildings full of legacy asbestos. The first step towards revitalization at Frog, Switch & Manufacturing site is complete.

RETRO's crews were brought in to safely plan and execute a full asbestos abatement at one of Carlisle's most significant industrial sites — the former Frog, Switch & Manufacturing plant. At roughly 30 acres, this property operated for 125 years, helping shape the area's industrial identity before closing in 2023.

Our crews worked hard to clear asbestos from 10 separate structures, handling decades of legacy industrial material safely and on schedule to prepare the buildings to be brought down to the slab.

This is important work — a step that must happen before anything new can be built. A closed plant doesn't become a community asset on its own; someone must safely clear what's left behind first.

Grateful to work alongside Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation as this site moves toward its next chapter.

Some of the best team moments happen outside the job site. ⚾

Last month, RETRO employees and their families headed out to Prince George's Stadium for a night at the ballpark — good food, good company, and a couple of lucky kids who walked away with foul balls.

Crews that spend time together off the clock build the kind of trust that shows up on the job site, too. That's why we make it a priority to invest in our team beyond the work — not just as a thank-you, but as part of how we build a strong crew.

Next up: Knoebels Amusement Park in August — this event already has over 100 people attending and we hope to see every RETRO employee and their family there 🙌

Algunos de los mejores momentos de equipo pasan fuera del sitio de trabajo. ⚾

El mes pasado, empleados de RETRO y sus familias fueron a Prince George's Stadium para pasar una noche de béisbol — buena comida, buena compañía, y un par de niños con suerte que se llevaron pelotas foul a casa.

Los equipos que pasan tiempo juntos fuera del trabajo construyen el tipo de confianza que también se nota en el sitio de trabajo. Por eso hacemos una prioridad invertir en nuestro equipo más allá del trabajo — no solo como un agradecimiento, sino como parte de cómo construimos un equipo fuerte.

Lo que sigue: Knoebels Amusement Park en agosto — este evento ya cuenta con más de 100 personas confirmadas, y esperamos ver ahí a cada empleado de RETRO junto con su familia 🙌
