🔍 Behind the Scenes at Central Broadband 🔎

Ever wonder what goes into keeping our fiber network connected?

These photos highlight one of the most precise parts of the job: fiber splicing. The strands of fiber being joined together are incredibly thin, about the width of a human hair, and require a steady hand, patience, and specialized equipment to prepare and align them correctly.

In the first photo, the protective coating is carefully stripped from the fiber strands. The second photo shows the fibers being cleaved, which means they’re cut perfectly straight to create a clean end face. In this case, all 12 fibers in the ribbon are cleaved at the same time. The third photo features a fusion splicer, which precisely aligns and permanently fuses all 12 fibers together at once creating one continuous piece of fiber.

It’s detailed work, but it’s an important step in delivering the fast, reliable fiber internet our communities count on every day.

😎 A Successful Season of Music in the Park😎

As we wrap up the Music in the Park series, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the North Scott Chamber of Commerce for bringing this wonderful event series to our community. Creating opportunities for friends, families, and neighbors to gather and enjoy free live music is no small effect.

Thank you as well to everyone who attended throughout the summer. Your support helped make this series a success and shows just how much our community values events that bring people together.

Labor Day Office Closure Notice

As a thank you to our employees, both of our offices will be closing at 2 PM on Friday to give our team a head start on the Labor Day weekend. Our offices will also be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day.

Labor Day is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the dedication, hard work, and contributions of workers in our communities and across the country. We are grateful for our employees and all they do to serve our customers throughout the year.

We will return to our normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8th. We wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable Labor Day weekend!
