I am excited to have been working on a new edition of Luther's Small Catechism with Luther's full answers as well as "An answer in today's words..." and also Intros and Conclusions for each section. This is something people have urged me to work on since I wrote Lutheran Trump Cards in 2014. Response from the pre-readers has been excellent and it is now at the printer. I'm listing it as a pre-order sale for $5.89 and it will ship on August 25th.

It is designed to be a grounded but updated and improved (and affordable) resource for confirmation classes, small groups, new members and more.

This question is in the mind of many people. It is why progressive churches are the best witness and the greatest hope for a meaningful church in the near future. Christian bigotry is an all too often used excuse for faithfulness. Time for more progressive voices to change what people hear.

This is a short article on why mainline people, who tend to be white and well to do, have lost their passion for evangelism and excused themselves from the work. We have to repent of our mainline-ness and reclaim our gospel grounding.

Here is my latest blog. I have come to the conclusion that our struggles in evangelism have to do with our mainline identity, which is both white and privileged. To recover the ability to share the good news, we have to recover the sense that we need Jesus more than the best church programs we can offer.
