Presented as part of the community's observance of the Battle of Plattsburgh and the America 250 Celebration, the solemn memorial will honor the American and British servicemen who lost their lives during the Battle of Plattsburgh on Sept. 11, 1814. The service will also pay tribute to the 731 veterans of all wars who are buried at Riverside Cemetery.

Authorities were recently notified of the transportation of horses through NYS for slaughter and human consumption in Canada after the New York State Humane Association brought the complaint to the attention of the Warren County District Attorney’s Office.
