It’s a beautiful week in Grass Valley! ☀️

Our crew has been putting in the work installing coir netting as part of permanent erosion control measures for Granite Construction’s Caltrans highway expansion project.

Coir netting provides added protection while helping establish vegetation and stabilize disturbed slopes. It’s another example of the work we do to help protect the land while supporting major infrastructure projects throughout Northern California. 🌿

The rainy season is coming. Is your site ready? 🌧️🌱

For larger projects, hydroseeding is more than just getting seed on the ground. Timing matters.

Hydroseeding before October gives vegetation the opportunity to germinate and establish before winter weather arrives. The stronger the vegetation is going into the rainy season, the better prepared your site is to handle the weather.

A little planning now can go a long way toward protecting your site and avoiding unnecessary costs from erosion, repairs, and rework later.

Our crews have completed the installation of 2.25 miles of silt fence in support of McGuire and Hester’s creek diversion project in Elk Grove. 👏🏻

Silt fence is one of the first lines of defense for protecting nearby waterways and helping prevent sediment from leaving the jobsite. Precision installation is critical, and our team delivered clean lines that will help keep the project moving while supporting environmental compliance. 🌱

Prairie City State Vehicle Recreation Area is getting an important drainage restoration upgrade, and we're proud to be supporting the project with comprehensive erosion control solutions.

Our team is installing:
• Turf reinforcement mats
• Erosion control blankets
• Fiber rolls
• Hydroseed and hydromulch

These BMPs will help stabilize disturbed soils, reduce erosion, and protect water quality as restoration work moves forward.

Our crew recently used a rock slinger to install compost on a hillside adjacent to Highway 4 in Stockton for Viking Construction. This approach allowed us to effectively cover the slope in much safer and more efficient way than hauling and spreading material by hand.
