Stop by the Surf Booth for your chance to win an Autism Speaks baseball mitt signed by the South Bend Cubs players, raffled off by Surf CEO Gene Crusie. Autism Speak is a U.S.-based nonprofit advocacy organization focused on providing crucial autism research, advocacy, services, and support to help all autistic people live their best lives. Gene received the special mitt being raffled off as an award for being one of the top fundraisers for Autism Speak’s “Step Up to the Plate Challenge” during World Autism Month.

Gene has a special connection with autism; his own son and grandson being diagnosed with it. He entered the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon with a personal goal of raising $5,000. So far, Gene has not only met his goal but exceeded it, raising $12,266.

We had an AWESOME time cheering on the Gary SouthShore RailCats to their win against the Cleburne Railroaders during their home game at the Steel Yard in Gary, Indiana.

We’re proud to partner with and support the RailCats this year. We had a BLAST at the game for our first booth night, raffling off $100 worth of Cat Coins and getting to know everyone who stopped by to see us, including the RailCats mascot Rusty!

Each year Ribbon of Hope Cancer Support Ministry, a local cancer support ministry based in Elkhart, Indiana that provides emotional and spiritual support to cancer patients, their families, and caregivers, holds its ANNUAL GOLF OUTING FUNDRAISER at Maplecrest Country Club in neighboring Goshen. Funds raised by this annual event have made it possible to successfully assist more than 2000 patients fighting cancer throughout Michiana.

Surf is proud to continue supporting Ribbon of Hope and their mission. This year, Surf team members Pat McCauley, Ryan Coates, Jason Estep, Jordan Holzwartz, Jim Morris, Sam Farris, Levi Hicks, and Mark Burlison had a blast participating in the event and look forward to next year! ⛳

We’re excited and incredibly proud to share that Surf Internet received the Fiber Broadband Association’s (FBA) 2026 Star Award during the Fiber Connect conference in Orlando, Florida! The award recognizes a company or community that goes above and beyond in advancing fiber-to-the-home and was presented before broadband providers, infrastructure leaders, policymakers, and industry partners from across North America.

Surf earned the honor for its continued leadership in expanding fiber broadband access in rural communities across the Great Lakes region, including outreach efforts tied to Indiana broadband expansion initiatives and long-term investment in underserved areas.

“Receiving this award from peers across the fiber broadband industry is incredibly meaningful,” said Kevin Bush, Chief Revenue Officer at Surf. “Projects like these take coordination across every part of the company. Meet Brian! As a Service Delivery Manager, Brian oversees over 30 technicians and supervisors to make sure installs are completed smoothly in an organized and timely fashion. He says what he loves most about working for Surf is leading his team and helping them achieve the goals they set. “I was an internet technician for twenty years, so I enjoy working with my team to keep everything on track.”

When Brian isn’t coaching his work family to success, he is coaching for his kids’ football, baseball, and softball teams. He’s also a big fan of the outdoors, so when he isn’t coaching, you can find him out in nature hunting and fishing or on vacation with his family. His favorite family vacation was a trip to Yosemite National Park where they spent their time hiking and backpacking through trails and mountains. Their next adventure will be a trip to Disney. They’re very excited. Sounds like a lot of fun!
