Growing up a Brewers fan in the 90s was something else.
Going to games at County Stadium, just hoping we’d finish above .500. Playing wiffleball in the backyard pretending to be José Valentín or Fernando Viña. Those times are cemented in my memory.
Watching the logos and uniforms change over the years... Funny how everything we grew up with is considered vintage now.
The last time the Brewers made the World Series, I wasn’t even born.
Years later, I was making bootleg Brewers shirts at home so my daughters had something cool to wear to games.
This summer, we got to live screen print at a Brewers pop-up at Lost Files.
Talk about coming full circle.
Now we’re two wins from the World Series. Six from being champions.
For one of baseball’s smallest markets, that says a lot about Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
I see a lot of similarities with our print shop.
We don’t want to be the biggest. We don’t want massive overhead or to chase every dollar for another fraction of growth.
We want to stay small. Build relationships. Do good work. Give a s**t about the people who trust us.
That feeling when Jackson Chourio comes through with a huge hit?
That’s how we feel when a customer sells out of a shirt design or creates something people genuinely love.
It’s a collaboration.
It’s not about buying the cheapest garment, using the fastest print method, and squeezing out another dollar in profit.
It’s about the person who eventually wears that shirt.
I believe in the 80/20 rule. But just because 20% of your customers bring in most of your business doesn’t mean the other 80% deserve anything less.
Whether it’s 24 shirts or 2,400, the goal is the same.
Make something worth wearing.
Something somebody pulls out of their closet 20 years from now and remembers where they got it.
We’re creating nostalgia.
Just like those old Brewers logos and shirts we all love.
And just like this Brewers team, we don’t need to be the biggest or flashiest.
Just keep showing up. Hit after hit. Everybody doing their part.
You don’t have to be the biggest to build something special.
We’re relentless, just like them.
Go Brewers.
Let’s get one for the old guys!
