The U.S. Small Business Administration is encouraging partners, stakeholders, and local officials to help share information about available disaster assistance for eligible private nonprofit organizations including faith-based impacted by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, flooding, landslides, and mudslides occurring July 21, 2026, through July 22, 2026.

Eligible nonprofits in the designated West Virginia counties of Barbour, Doddridge, Lewis, Pendleton, Pleasants, Randolph, Ritchie, Tucker, Tyler, Upshur, and Wetzel may apply for low-interest federal disaster loans for physical damage and economic injury.

Attached is a flyer with important eligibility details, deadlines, and application information in which can be shared with nonprofit partners and impacted communities.

The Elkins-Randolph County Chamber, in partnership with Vandalia Health Davis Medical Center, invites all Chamber members/partners to join us as we continue developing our Passport to Health initiative!

This collaborative effort is focused on encouraging healthier lifestyles, promoting physical activity and nutrition, supporting local businesses, and building a healthier, stronger Randolph County.

🎄 CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING – Immediately following the parade, join us at the Rotary Amphitheater in Elkins Town Square as we officially light the 22 Foot Christmas tree and celebrate the holiday season together!

📢 ATTENTION RANDOLPH COUNTY BUSINESSES!

The Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce will host the Randolph County Commission during our upcoming Rise & Shine on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, to discuss the newly revised Special Emergency Ambulance Service Fee Ordinance.

The Randolph County Commission is responsible for implementing this fee, and Chamber leadership wants to ensure our business community has the opportunity to hear directly from County officials, ask questions, and become fully educated on the changes and requirements.

What businesses need to know:

🔹 The revised ordinance establishes a $0.10 fee per qualifying transaction, not per item.

🔹 The fee is paid by the purchaser and collected by the business or service provider.

🔹 Collection begins December 1, 2026, with the first payment due in January 2027.

🔹 The County Commission will provide information regarding exemptions, collection procedures, reporting requirements, and payment options.

As the voice of the local business community, the Chamber recognizes the importance of keeping our businesses informed about changes that impact their daily operations. Our role is to provide an opportunity for open communication, education, and direct access to the County officials responsible for this ordinance.

Please note that the County Commission's presentation will conclude promptly at 9:00 AM, as another Chamber educational seminar begins at 9:15 AM.

We strongly encourage Randolph County business owners, managers, and representatives to attend, become informed, and bring their questions!
