I came across this organization while researching funding opportunities for a couple of nonprofit clients. While neither of my client organizations are a good fit for this grantor, I bet I have friends that could apply! From their website: "Grants from the foundation give monetary support and encouragement to feminist writers and visual artists who are women (cis or transgender) or nonbinary"

Barbara Deming (1917-1984) was a feminist, le***an, poet, writer and nonviolent activist in the civil rights, anti-war and women’s movements. She founded the Money for Women Fund in 1975 to give financial and moral support to creative women.

"The capital campaign committee raised nearly $11 million, almost $2 million above the initial goal. Additionally, a $1 million gift from the Mabee Foundation will establish an endowment for future capital needs.

The fundraising began in 2021 in response to an increase in need at the center, which had put it at near 150% capacity each month."

Congratulations to the Child Advocacy Network for a successful capital campaign that will expand their reach. I am impressed with the way their committee used this campaign to also facilitate rebranding with a seemingly small, but powerful change of a single word in their name. With a solid 25 year history, they are now well positioned for the next decades. Well done!

Now operating under its new name, Child Advocacy Network, the longtime Tulsa-area organization will be able to expand services in its new space.

LBP has provided me with ongoing lessons in what does and does not work for keeping myself on track. When I plan, I execute. When I execute, I complete projects. Using Crescent’s method and foundation empowered me to finally create a planning system that actually works for me. The emphasis is on create. No forced system that I abandon within weeks or a few months. Her writing practice courses have done the same thing for me. They remind me to get out of my own way, work and create.

LBP is a perfect introduction to CD’s teaching style. I hope you will join us this year.

Are you stressed out from looking at the disarray in your office? Worried about finding the time away from doing the parts of your business you love to deal with end of the year bookkeeping? Have a stack of invoices & receipts that don't have a system to go in? It happens! You most likely did not start your business because you love spreadsheets, filing paperwork figuring out what bookkeeping system will work best and how to use it.

Sally has room for a few new clients and now is the perfect time to decide to do what you love and let someone else take care of the parts you don't. She can make sure you start 2023 with a new system in place and help clear things up from 2022 BEFORE you need to turn everything over to your tax accountant.

Today had me working in Fayetteville. I tend to stack my meetings and client visits into one day as much as possible. This grouping really encompasses a wide spectrum of my work. A nonprofit collaboration, 2 small business bookkeeping clients and last but certainly not least, support work with writers and strategist!

First stop was a meeting with Stacey at Fayetteville Area Community Foundation, next I visited a candy shop in Evelyn Hills - The Candy Event, had a delicious lunch at The Hills Hideaway and then incredible cucumber soup with my favorite dragon- Crescent Dragonwagon and Sweetie - Everything Easier with Sweetie. I even managed to squeeze in a visit with my son since he was in town this afternoon!

Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I cannot believe this is my life.
