Happy Tuesday, everyone! After an incredible first 6 months in business, I'd like to take a moment to tell you all how this adventure began and how thankful we are for the life you've given myself, and my family.
My name is Brian and I have been repairing laptops, desktops, and gaming systems since I was about 16 years old. Prior to COVID-19 I managed a repair center that belonged to a major "chain rental company". I was manager there for two years and had worked there in total over 11 years total, but had always held out hope to begin my own repair business one day.
Thanks to COVID-19, the repair center temporarily closed, and then permanently about a month later. I rode out the pandemic at home with my wife and children. I crabbed a little on the side during the summer and my wife also continued on with her small portrait photography business of ten years once lock-down lightened up. As the end of 2020 approached we began discussing the possibility of finally opening a small business doing appliance repair, as opposed to me going back to work for a major company. I got started on planning.
While we awaited the official business paperwork to come in the mail, my wife and I began brainstorming the basics of what we would call it. We settled on Shoreline Repair Services, as we love living near the river. The crab logo was inspired by love for crabbing which I've been doing for several years now. Not a full time thing, but something I love doing.
In January 2021 of this year, everything was ready to go. Thanks to a few sparked interests on Facebook, and a feature by CecilWhig, I was able to hit the ground running. Word of mouth quickly spread and Shoreline Repair is now being found with great ease on Google. Not only do my days and weeks fill, I get to meet all kinds of great people with all kinds of neat homes and properties. I was lucky enough to say hi to a zebra a few weeks ago, which was really cool. On another job I took my wife and kids with me to quickly replace a part on our way to dinner, which turned into my wife getting to finally meet an Emu.
Thanks to all of you, I now have flexibility at home with my wife and children. I have great clients who all continue to help my business grow with their kind referrals and Google reviews. My wife and I are even lucky enough to share clients between her portrait photography business and Shoreline Repair Services. I am very grateful for the opportunity to work for my community, and have time to spend with my three kids and wife. We love to go out on our boat and love to swim in our pool way past bedtime. So thank you everyone for choosing Shoreline Repair Services. I hope to continue serving you for years to come!
