Here’s the exact content process I run for my managed service clients as their outsourced marketing team:

→ How I create a month of content (social, blogs, emails, etc)
→ From just two 30-minute calls
→ That still sounds 100% like you

Because here’s the real issue most founders have…

You’re the brand — so every post either comes from you, or has to sound like you. Which is why marketing keeps landing back on your plate.

The process:

1. Research what your audience is actually asking
2. Two 30-minute interviews a month (you talk, I pull the expertise out)
3. Turn those 60 minutes into social, blog, newsletter, and everything else we’re building that month

No ghostwritten content that sounds nothing like you. No 10-hour content weeks. Just marketing that actually runs — while you run the business.

I like to break my clients’ audience into three buckets:

Red Audience – unaware or just starting to notice a problem
Yellow Audience – problem aware, but not sure what to do
Green Audience – ready for a solution

It’s really easy to talk to the green audience:
“Hey, we have a sale.”
“Book an appointment.”
“Come buy XYZ.”

But what actually drives long-term growth is learning how to speak to the red and yellow audience… which makes up about 85% of your market.

If you’re only talking to green, you’re missing the chance to build trust with the majority of people who aren’t ready yet… but will be.

Here’s a simple example:

Let’s say you own a hair salon.

Most people aren’t actively shopping for a new stylist. They stay loyal… until small frustrations start to build:

Their blonde doesn’t feel as bright anymore
Their color fades faster than it used to
Their hair feels more damaged after appointments
They’re not getting the same “wow” feeling when they leave the chair
This is where your content matters.

Instead of waiting until they’re ready to leave their stylist (green), you meet them earlier (red/yellow).

A strong hook might look like:
“You’ve been going to the same stylist for years… but your blonde just doesn’t hit the same anymore.”

From there, you educate:

Why blonde can start to look dull
Common mistakes stylists make over time
What should be happening instead
You’re not selling… you’re planting seeds.

Because when those small frustrations turn into a real decision, they already trust you.
They’ve been learning from you.
And they already know why they want to choose you.

If you want help applying this to your business, message me and I’ll send you 3 example posts you can use right away to start connecting with your red and yellow audience.

Introducing our latest Marketing Kickstarter Package for Gilmer Outdoors. 👏🏻

Projects like this are especially rewarding because we get to bring a strong brand to life visually, one that’s already serving its customers well through excellent service and high-quality work.

Now, they’re ready to take that success to the next level by increasing their visibility online and reaching a new stage of growth.

This package included a full rebrand, market positioning work, a new website, updates to all online business listings, and refreshed social media graphics and business cards.

What I’ve seen over and over is that business owners often try to market for the stage they want to be in, rather than the one they’re actually in.

That usually creates a lot of pressure to do more—more content, more platforms, more tactics—when what’s really needed is a clearer sense of what matters most right now.

Different stages of business call for different kinds of marketing support.

Here’s the general path I’d suggest:

$0–$150K: build a consistent marketing rhythm and get strategic guidance
$150K–$300K: strengthen your website, branding, messaging, and local presence
$300K–$750K: begin SEO, implement a CRM, and build out email marketing
$750K+: create a full-funnel marketing strategy aligned with your goals and future growth
If your marketing feels messy right now, it may not be because you need to work harder. It may simply be that your strategy doesn’t fit the stage of business you’re in.

I just completed a marketing audit for a multi-million dollar company, and if your own marketing feels a little behind, this should be a relief:

Even businesses at this level can still have gaps in the foundation.

This company was successful, respected, and built on years of strong word of mouth. But their website was creating friction in two key ways:

🚨It was not properly optimized for search
🚨The messaging was speaking to the wrong audience

So while the business itself was strong, the website was making it harder for the right people to find them, understand their value, and take the next step.

That is more common than you think.

A lot of growing businesses assume they need more marketing, when what they really need is a clearer foundation: a website that gets found, a message that connects, and a path that makes action easy.

That is exactly what inspired this week’s newsletter.

We’re breaking down how to strengthen your website using SEO + StoryBrand website strategy, and we’ll walk you through how to complete your own DIY website audit so you can identify what may be holding your growth back.

The newsletter goes out on Monday.👏🏻👏🏻

If I had a dollar for every time a founder told me, “Marketing just doesn’t work for us,” I could probably fund half their marketing budget myself.

It’s one of the most common things I hear during first conversations.

But when I ask a simple follow‑up question, “How many leads came from marketing compared to referrals, networking, or word of mouth?”, the answer is almost always unclear.

Not because they’re doing anything wrong, but because they’ve never had the structure in place to measure it.

On Monday in our first newsletter EVER!! I’m breaking down the five essentials every business need before investing in marketing and the three things you can do right now to feel more in-tune with your current marketing ROI.

If you want the full breakdown, make sure you’re subscribed to The Good Sower newsletter.
