Earthlight is proud to be part of the Passive House event happening today and tomorrow at Hotel Marcel in New Haven, CT!
 
Hotel Marcel is a net zero hotel and the first Passive House-certified hotel in the United States, making it a great setting for conversations around sustainability in building. Our commercial team helped bring solar to the project and is on site giving tours of the facility, sharing how the system supports the hotel’s mission.
 
Events like this are a great opportunity to connect with people across different industries and communities who are thinking about the future of sustainable building. We’re grateful to be part of the conversation and proud to highlight the work our commercial team helped bring to life.

Ever wonder what your solar system looks like before the panels go up?
 
This shoreline install gives a great look at the racking stage, which is the foundation that holds the system in place before our crews start to “lay glass.”
 
That is what our installers call the moment the panels go up, and with a view like this, it makes the job even better. Before that happens, every piece of racking has to be lined up, secured, and installed with care.

We love hearing feedback like this from our customers. From the first conversation with Gary to the final walkthrough with Dan, our goal is always to make the solar process clear, friendly, and professional every step of the way.
 
This project also came with a really cool ground mount system, shown in the second and third photos. Ground mounts can be a great option when a property has the right space, giving homeowners a clean, effective way to make solar work for them.

Earthlight recently completed a commercial solar installation for Geissler’s Supermarket in East Windsor, CT, with more than 550 rooftop panels and a system totaling over 300 kW!
 
Projects like this take a lot of planning, coordination, and care from our team, and we’re proud to see it come together for a local business. This system helps Geissler’s put their rooftop to work while supporting their facility with clean, reliable energy.

Every roof, every project, every day, safety comes first.
 
During our annual Safety Day, our crews spent time reviewing proper roof safety practices, jobsite awareness, and the steps that help keep everyone protected while they’re working in the field.
 
Training like this matters because at the end of the day, the most important thing is making sure every member of our team gets home safely to their family.

Meet Tim Schneider, Co-Founder of Earthlight, and hear a little bit about where Safety Day began!
 
Before Earthlight grew into the company it is today, Tim spent years working as an electrician. He has seen firsthand how important it is to take safety seriously.
 
That experience helped shape the standard that still guides Earthlight. Today, our leadership team continues to make safety a priority by bringing crews together for our annual Safety Day, giving employees time to take classes, earn certifications, ask questions, and feel supported before they head back out to the job.
 
At the end of the day, Safety Day is about our people. It’s about making sure every team member has the training, confidence, and support they need to do great work and get home safely.
