Being a small business is WILD!!! 🎢

🪨 Monday: Start the week feeling optimistic. Check the schedule. Check the bank account. And again. And probably one more time just to make sure it didn’t change in the last 12 minutes. 😂

🪨 Tuesday: Measure kitchens, cut stone, install countertops, answer phones, work up quotes, talk cabinets, flooring & tile… while also realizing SCHOOL STARTS FRIDAY and somebody should probably finish that back-to-school shopping. 😳

🪨 Wednesday: PAYROLL DAY. 💸 Pay the crew, pay some bills, check the bank account. And again. Moderate panic. Then a customer says YES to a quote and suddenly everything is going to be FINE. 😂

🪨 Thursday: Phones are ringing. Installs are happening. Quotes are getting approved. Slabs are moving. Someone stops in to ask if we’d like to donate to a local fundraiser. Of course we do — because supporting the community that supports us is part of this whole small-business thing, too.

WE ARE UNSTOPPABLE. 💪
Stacy still checks the bank account. 😂

🪨 Friday: Send Hadleigh back to school 📚 AND send Danica back to college. 😭 Realize summer somehow disappeared. Run the business while having a minor mom-life crisis and wondering how all of these things happened in the same week.

🪨 Saturday: Catch up on everything we didn’t finish during the week. Someone messages, “I know you’re closed, but I have a quick question…” Answer it because when you own a small business, are you ever really closed? 😂

🪨 Sunday: Finally get in the pool, relax, and declare that today we are NOT working. ☀️😎

Approximately 20 minutes later…

“Crap. We need that one thing from the shop.”

Get out of the pool. Run to the shop. Grab the thing. While we’re there, notice three other things that need done. 😂

Because apparently even our days off come with a quick trip to Kansas Granite.

And then Monday comes and we happily do the whole crazy thing all over again. 🎢

Small business ownership is exciting, terrifying, exhausting, rewarding and occasionally completely unhinged.

But every time you walk through our doors, call us about a project, recommend us to a friend, share our posts, or trust us with your home — you make one of those “UP” moments happen. 🪨

Facebook memories brought this one back today. 🩷

A lot has changed since Rob said this.

Back then, countertops were pretty much the thing. Since then, we’ve grown. We’ve added flooring, tile, cabinets, backsplashes, remodels and more to what we can offer our customers.

But you know what hasn’t changed?

This.

At the heart of Kansas Granite & Home Solutions, we’re still in the business of making people happy. 🩷

Now we just get to help with even MORE pieces of the home.

Apparently… they start playing hide-and-seek. 😂
