Hang in there , everyone!

T’was 6 days til Christmas,
All day and all night,
The wind was quite mighty,
Blowing left and then right.
When we all awoke to survey the scene,
It took not but a second, it was less than serene.
Trees on the ground and homes without power,
Some went to work without even a shower.
Wal Mart and Dunkin both dark power gone,
Leading many to question, “How shall I go on?”
Streams crested their banks and the ocean annoyed,
We noticed folks in those trucks and became overjoyed.
Like a white knight piercing darkness we saw them emerge,
Sending bat-liken signals we’ll soon see a surge.
With trucks and those buckets hoisted high to the wires,
Pole after pole, they work through being tired.
Flashing amber lights that brings joy to the masses,
Getting us back to work and students to classes.
We sometimes lose sight when we called and we ranted,
There are risks in getting us what we take for granted.
Those are the people putting it all on the line,
Letting us know everything soon will be fine.
So when we flip that switch that puts smiles on our faces,
It’s comforting to know we’ve got friends in high places.
