8/9/2022 8:16AM: Due to a failed culvert, Shore Road will be CLOSED to through traffic from Pond Ave to Forrest Ave while public works crews work to replace it. This is in the vicinity of the Ellsworth Elementary Middle School. We estimate the road will be closed for the next day or two.

Yikes 🕳

Now that's a pothole! Avoid School Street in Ellsworth between Park and Church streets. An old storm drain has collapsed causing a sink hole in the street. That portion of road will be closed until at least Tuesday afternoon, according to the city.

**Reminder about the City of Ellsworth Rules on Fireworks**

With the upcoming holiday weekend we thought that we would share a friendly reminder on the rules that need to be followed if you’re going to be setting fireworks off. Below is a link to the full ordinance with maps of the area that is banned from fireworks. It also specifies the legal times you can be shooting your fireworks display off.

Consumer fireworks may be used on Fridays from 6:00pm to 10:00pm and Saturdays from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

Consumer fireworks may be used on the following dates between the hours of 9:00am and 12:30am the following day:
A. July 4th
B. December 31st
C. Consumer fireworks may be used from 6:00pm to 10:00pm from the Sunday immediately before July 4th and December 31st to the Thursday immediately following July 4th and December 31st.
A person may use consumer fireworks only on that person’s property, or on the property owned by a person who has consented with written permission, to the use of consumer fireworks on that property.
