We are excited to announce that the Wurtemburg-Perry Volunteer Fire Department Junior Firefighter Development Program is now accepting members!

This program is open to young people ages 14–17 who want to learn about the fire service, serve their community, build leadership skills, and become part of the Station 2200 team.

Junior Firefighter Candidates, ages 14–15, will focus on:

Station and apparatus orientation

Fire-service safety

Equipment identification

Basic skills training

Community service

Teamwork and responsibility

Junior Firefighters, ages 16–17, will continue with more advanced training and approved exterior and support activities under the supervision of qualified Department members.

You do not have to live in Perry Township or Ellport Borough to apply. Junior members may live within the greater Ellwood City area, provided they are within a reasonable response time as determined by the Department’s Executive Committee.

Members will receive structured training, an assigned mentor, clear development goals, and the opportunity to prepare for future active membership.

Interested applicants or parents can contact the Wurtemburg-Perry Volunteer Fire Department or speak with a Station 2200 officer for an application and additional information.
