Quick question for anyone managing a radio fleet...
When's the last time someone on your team thought twice about how they're charging those radios?
Most batteries don't die early because they're defective. They die early because of small daily habits. Leaving radios in a hot cradle all day. Grabbing a non-approved charger because it fits. Storing spares in a supply closet that hits 90 degrees in the summer.
Sound familiar?
A few simple fixes go a long way:
✔ Only use Motorola-approved chargers — they're built specifically for your radio's battery chemistry
✔ Keep chargers in a cool, ventilated space — heat kills capacity faster than anything
✔ Rotate radios out of the cradle once they're fully charged
✔ Store spare batteries at half charge if they'll sit for more than a couple of weeks
Your team deserves radios that work when it matters most. These habits make that happen.
We broke it all down in our latest battery care guide. Worth a bookmark if you manage a radio fleet of any size.
