THE DOT CAKE … a viral sensation
They are calling it the “dot cake” and it’s all over social media and in many bakeries. I tried it for you on a smaller scale.
Most creators make a sheet cake, flavor of choice, cut circles out and find cups/containers to perfectly fit the cake rounds. Then they stack the cake rounds in the container, alternating cake and frosting, finishing by leveling the frosting flat to the top. The container is then turned upside down and pressed into sprinkles for total coverage of the “dots” giving it a sort of hard crunchy finish.
I did it here using a few cupcakes with the perfect 4 oz containers and of course the tiny dot sprinkles. They sure are cute, different and that crunchy top doesn’t disappoint.
