Myron “Mike” Frye, 91 years old, of Kendall, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Milestone Senior Living in Hillsboro.
Mike was born to Neil and Agnes (Berberich) Fry in rural Cazenovia, near Loyd, Wisconsin, as the oldest of four children.
On November 24, 1962, Mike married Sharon Rucinski at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richland Center.
Mike worked on the farm through high school and later took a job hauling canned milk while still working at home. He then worked as a night foreman at Marten’s Manufacturing and day worked on the farm. After working at Marten’s, Mike took a job as a crane operator for C.A. Hooper in the Quad Cities. Eventually Mike found his passion when his neighbor wanted him to work auctions on weekends. He took a full-time job in 1968 in Elroy and bought the office in Elroy in 1970 incorporating Dairyland Auction Service. Mike figured he had clerked close to 4,000 auctions in his life. The people that attended the auctions were his family too.
In 1965, his son, Randy, was born and eventually worked alongside him for the past 40 years. He really loved his work and his work ethic is passed down to his grandchildren as well. He was also a charter member of the Kendall-Wilton Knights of Colombus and a proud member of the Elroy Lions Club for many years.
Mike is survived by his son, Randy (Kathleen) of Kendall; grandsons, Ryan (Jordan) of New Lisbon, and twins, Eric and Cory (Kayleigh), both of Eau Claire; and soon to be great-granddaughter who is to be born in July. Mike is further survived by his brothers-in-law, Linton Brewer, Richard Wastlick, both of Richland Center; sister-in-law, Jean Fry of Cazenovia; a beloved aunt, Emily Berberich of Cazenovia; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
Mike is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Sharon Frye; parents, Neil and Agnes Fry; sisters, Mary Brewer and Betty Wastlick; brother, Gary Fry; mother and father-in-law, Joe and Lois Rucinski; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Patricia (Bernard) Fuller, Carolyn (Lance) Graham, and Joe Jr. (Sheri) Rucinski.
The family would like to extend our extreme appreciation to the outstanding staff at Milestone Senior Living for treating him with love and respect, as well as Agrace Hospice who stepped in the past month for Mike’s final journey.
