Clam Digging Results With Wedding Set Lost in the Mud - Found Days Later
Cape Carteret, NC

Brenda called Crystal Coast Ring Finders for help trying to locate her missing 3 piece wedding set. Brenda was out trying to find clams in the very shallow waters of the Bogue Sound. It wasn't until the next morning she realized her wedding set was missing. I asked her many questions about what she did after being in the water and it was determined the rings were more likely lost in or near the muddy area she searched for clams. The day I met the couple (married 55 years!) the weather was less than favorable with strong winds keeping the tide higher than normal and white cap waves at times. After a few passes, I informed them this was not ideal conditions and I would return soon to try again. On the second attempt, I tried to take advantage of the negative low tide that day and get out as far as she informed me she hunted on that sad day. As I expected, I found many items of garbage but no rings. The third day I returned and after checking my tracking software realized there was still an area that needed more attention. After a while I finally came across a very solid signal and was hoping it wasn't garbage. I brought my scoop up out of the mud and after clearing the debris, I noticed that spectacular shine of gold! I marked the location of the first ring and about 3 foot away I found a very similar signal. It was Brenda's engagement ring. Once again, I marked the area in the water with a pole and seared again. Once again at around 3 feet further was the last ring! It was apparent to me she lost the rings throwing something. Brenda explained she was digging with her right hand if she found an empty shell, she would toss it into an area she already hunted.

Brenda informed me her friends were very doubtful any of the rings would be found and even encouraged her to file an insurance claim on the lost rings. When I informed Brenda (who had returned to Pennsylvania) I have found all 3 rings, she told me she filed a claim the previous day and would now call them back to cancel the claim and save her the deductible amount. Brenda and her husband Floyd for 55 years returned back to North Carolina a few weeks later and I was very happy to return the rings to her in person and I really enjoyed visiting them.

Fun Family Day at the Beach also Has Lost Wedding Band. Found the Next Morning
Anthony and his family spent a fun-filled day on Emerald Isle beach, where he tucked his gold wedding band into the pocket of a beach chair. After enjoying the sun and sand, they packed up their belongings and returned to their lodging. Later, when they discovered the ring was missing, Anthony reached out to Crystal Coast Ring Finders. The next morning, I set out to search for it. With his clear description of where the kids had played and the chairs had been set up, I powered on my gear and began scanning the area. Luckily, I headed straight to the spot where the ring was buried just beneath the sandy surface.

BOUNCING a VOLLEYBALL LED to BRANDON'S WEDDING BAND BEING LOST in the SURF

EMERALD ISLE, NC - Just minutes after losing his 4-month-old wedding ring, Brandon called Crystal Coast Ring Finders. I arrived shortly after high tide and began searching from high to low toward the ocean. After three and a half passes, the Deus II metal detector gave a solid 46 reading. Pinpointing the spot, I took one scoop, but a wave rushed in and washed away the sand. As I lifted the scoop to check, there it was—Brandon’s bright gold wedding band. I held up the scoop basket, and Brandon happily reclaimed his lost ring.
This year’s charity is Fishin' for a Cure and 10% of Brandon’s reward will be donated to support individuals battling breast cancer.

PLATINUM WEDDING RING LOST ON NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH FOUND IN SECONDS
Tim told me he had spent a few hours at a North Topsail Beach access with his dog before packing up and heading home. It wasn’t until he got home that he realized his wedding ring was missing. I offered to drive the 75 miles to meet him right away and help find it. When we met, Tim had a clear memory of where he’d set up on the beach and mentioned his dog had dug a spot in the sand there. We both figured the ring had to be nearby. I asked him to choose the spot he thought it might be, and he was only off by about a foot. Passing through the area, I got a strong 63 signal on my XP Deus II metal detector—right in the platinum range. I told him, “Your ring is right there,” marking the spot with my coil. My pinpointer quickly confirmed it, and I pulled Tim’s wedding band from its sandy hiding place.

LOST WEDDING BAND in the SAND is QUICKLY BACK ON HIS HAND
Emerald Isle, NC – Jesse called for help to find his lost wedding band. He had given it to his wife before going into the ocean, but it somehow disappeared into the sand. He told me he’d tried searching on his own without any luck. When I arrived, I asked to have a beach chair moved out of the way and began my search. After one pass, I was surprised not to find it. I turned to search another area when my coil picked up a metallic target just at the edge of my swing. As I bent down to investigate, I spotted something black barely sticking out of the sand—and in seconds, Jesse’s ring was back on his finger!

LOST UNDERWATER CELL PHONE FOUND WEEKS LATER WORKS!
Jacksonville, NC – While fishing by the New River, Alexander accidentally kicked his phone into the water and assumed it was gone for good. Weeks later, after having to put down his pet ferret, he realized all his photos of the animal were on that phone. He reached out to Crystal Coast Ring Finders, and I went to help. A friend warned me the area was known for alligators, but Alexander gave me a clear idea of where to search. Using a fishing magnet to test the semi-soft riverbed, I found the depth was manageable. After several passes through the murky water, I finally located Alexander’s phone—it was actually the second phone I found that day from the same location. Since he wasn’t home, I left it in a designated spot. Later that night, Alexander sent me a picture of it charging and working again. I was thrilled he could recover all his cherished photos.
