🌟 Celebrating An Inspiring Journey 🌟

In January of 2022, a new year brought with it a new opportunity to make an impact. We had the privilege of working with Josiah McDougal to turn his passion into a reality - to create a local safe haven for reptiles and amphibians in our small rural town. We set out to help achieve this dream and helped him create Dragon Country Reptile Rescue, Inc.

Josiah was more than just our first client - he was a visionary with an inspiring dream. As we walked him through the process of creating his non-profit, establishing bylaws, and facilitating his first board meeting, we realized just how much this dream meant to him. His passion for rescuing and caring for reptiles became our shared mission. It was a testament to what true passion, combined with a clear vision, can achieve.

Fast forward to today, and we are grateful to have been able to assist several nonprofit organizations in their journey to make a difference. From fledgling startups to established entities, we've together embarked on a journey of growth, innovation, and most importantly - impact.

Every day, we're reminded of the immense power held by the nonprofit sector to drive change. To all those out there harboring a dream and a cause, remember that the size of your organization doesn't define your impact. Whether you're a brand-new organization, a small team, or a large group, your passion and dedication can create waves of change.

Here's to many more years of turning visions into realities, and to the extraordinary individuals and organizations that dream big.

Work until you drop, and when you do, it better be out of everyone's way.

So many people today struggle with a healthy work-life balance. Jill's experience should be a warning sign to all struggling to find that balance -- this is where it can lead, a traumatizing trip to the ER. As an emplyee, understand that your health is far more important than any monetary value of the company.

Overwork and innappropriate work-life balance is a common theme across many companies, including small businesses. It is important as the owner of a small business to think of the employees atmosphere when we talk about scaling from a 3 employee business to one with 20+ employees. The environment becomes increasingly more competitive, and hard workers can become overworked, just like Jill was.

It is important as a small business owner to take the time to reflect on your employees' environment. A great tool to do this is a cultural assessment -- a process in which a third-party entity surveys the employees and the stakeholders of the company to implement changes to improve the overall environment. Changing your employees' environment for the better will pay dividends far greater than any amount of overtime.

Whether you're an employee or an owner, take a step back, breathe, and realize that happiness and success go hand in hand.

If you think this can’t happen to you, you are mistaken.  I’m proof it can happen to us all, but if we talk about it, maybe we can prevent it from happening to others.

The Blue Ocean Strategy: A competitive business strategy focused on expanding the consumer base of an industry, rather than focusing on either differentiation or low cost.

It is becoming increasingly easier to implement this strategy with how interconnected our society is today. Social media and the internet as a whole allow businesses to reach consumers easier than ever, and allow an opportunity to reach new populations — an important part of the Blue Ocean Strategy.
