Dear Neighbors Affected by the Wildfires,
In the wake of the devastating wildfires, my heart goes out to all those who have suffered unimaginable loss. To provide a small measure of comfort and support during this challenging time, I am offering free mailbox rentals to help you securely receive your important mail and packages.
Losing a beloved home in an instant is heartbreaking, and I want to ensure that essential correspondence—whether it’s from insurance providers, government agencies, or loved ones—can still reach you without worry. While I wish I could provide this service indefinitely, I, too, am responsible for rent and other obligations. However, I am committed to offering:
• Small mailboxes for up to 5 months
• Medium mailboxes for up to 4 months
• Large mailboxes for up to 3 months
To rent a mailbox, we require the following:
1. Two forms of ID: A photo ID and a secondary ID with your previous address. I understand this may be difficult after losing your home, but it’s a federal requirement for mailbox setup. You can find more details about acceptable IDs on our website: Link.
2. Completion of USPS Form 1583: This must be filled out in person at our location.
If you’re in need of this service, simply let us know that you’re a wildfire survivor. While I trust in the goodness of our community, recent reports of fraudulent claims compel me to kindly ask for any documentation or photos that can verify your loss. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
