Interlocking Connections is seeking to hire in home and in clinic staff working with children and adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Related field experience and familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis is helpful although not necessary for the right candidate. Come join us!

If you are in the area on Saturday May 21, please come by Stop and Shop in Enfield, CT (located at 54 Hazard Avenue) between the hours of 9 and 11am. Our social skills group's will be there collecting items and donations for "Operation Foot Care Patrol" through "Adopt a Platoon". 100% of your donations or items are sent directly overseas to an actively deployed troop of 20 soldiers. Our adult social skills groups focus on skill building in the areas of reciprocal conversations, social awareness, respect for personal differences, as well as many other areas. While our groups are interactive and fun the best part of the group undoubtedly is our monthly luncheon. We can practice ordering off of a menu, using an appropriate voice volume, tipping rules, and of course, public eating rules. As many of our folks have limited food interests we try out a diversity of foods and restaurants so that we can experience the taste and smell of other kinds of food in a supportive manner. Who knew that Indian would be such a hit!! By show of hands at the end of our outing we pick the next "adventure" - coming in May is Southern BBQ at Bear's Smokehouse in Windsor! Below are some of the great places we have been. From Japanese Hibachi to Italian.... and everything in between....

ILC runs a number of social skills groups for children and adults on the Autism Spectrum. Our adolescent groups have "adopted" a platoon of 20 active duty soldiers and are raising money and collecting items such as new socks, foot powder and other feet essentials which are not readily available to the troops. These items will be shipped directly to the chaplain of the platoon along with notes and letters to say "Thank You For Your Service". A great way for them to learn about sacrifice and giving back to others. Good job guys!
