7:21PM Good evening,

There is a good chance we will see some thunderstorm activity this evening and possibly overnight. When storms do occur, lightning, torrential rainfall under the heavier cells, strong winds, and hail will be the main threats. If storms train over the same areas overnight, there may be localized flooding.

Storms up in Kansas right now will not affect us as they are moving east but will be watching for developing storms in NW Oklahoma and southern Kansas.

The satellite loop is crazy with a frontal boundary down south and several outflow boundaries left over from the MCS this morning. When i have stated there was a mess, this is what a mess looks like.

Overall, we will be ok but there may be some noise overnight and if storms do go severe, its due to 1 inch hail and 58+mph winds. I didnt want to mention this part because it causes anxiety to some but the tornado threat is VERY LOW for us tonight. No major worries.

Have a great evening and I will post again overnight if needed.

1320L UPDATE:

FLOOD WARNINGS STILL IN EFFECT FOR NORTHEASTERN GARFIELD COUNTY AND SOUTHEASTERN GRANT COUNTY. THAT MESS IS MOVING ESE. THE STORMS UP NNW IN KANSAS WILL CONTINUE ESE.

WE ARE STILL IN AN AREA FOR POSSIBLY SOME ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AND SEVERE WEATHER LATER THIS EVENING. WILL SEND ANOTHER ADVISORY OUT LATER TODAY.

AT LEAST ITS COOLER TODAY. DIDNT REALIZE THAT YOU MIGHT NEED A BOAT TO GET TO LAMONT AND POSSIBLY POND CREEK, THOUGH.

HAVE A GOOD AFTERNOON.

915AM UPDATE

Storms in southern Grant and northern Garfield Counties have gone severe due to possibly 1 inch hail. As you can see by this radar loop that storms are moving east. This whole mess north and northwest of there is slowly sinking south so rain will be around for a while today.

Nothing to be real worried about besides gusty winds and possibly some hail.

Will advise.

0635L UPDATE:

STORMS HAVE FORMED THIS MORNING UP NORTH AND ARE SLOWLY BACKBUILDING TO THE SOUTHWEST.

THE CIRCLED AREA IS JUST WHERE ADDITIONAL STORMS "MIGHT" FORM. STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF HEAVY RAINFALL, SOME HAIL, AND GUSTY WINDS. MOVEMENT AS THEY FORM WILL BE EAST.

SOME SEVERE WEATHER IS OCCURRING IN GRANT COUNTY RIGHT NOW.

WILL WATCH AND ADVISE.

0315L-THURSDAY, JUNE 18, 2026

We are in a MARGINAL RISK AREA for the possibility of strong to severe weather this morning and today. The front is oozing its way through the area and is just south of the county, as I type here at 0230L. Per model guidance that I have looked at verifies the fact that the forecast is VERY messy. We could see storms around the area between now and noon. Either way, we will be much cooler, see the forecast below, and winds will be a bit gusty out of the ENE.

Just stay weather aware today. See graphics attached.

Overall, we’ll be ok, just a little toasty. Here’s your forecast from the NWS in NORMAN:

Thursday- Mostly cloudy. Showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms in the morning. Much cooler. Near steady temperature in the lower 70s. Northeast winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid-60s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

8:05PM OUTLOOK:

WE STILL HAVE A CHANCE FOR SEVERE WEATHER THIS EVENING AS THE FRONT MOVES IN OVERNIGHT. INSTABILITY AND SHEAR ARE VERY APPARENT THIS EVENING.
" PLEASE EXCUSE MY ROUGH GRAPHIC" BUT THE FRONT IS LAGGING BEHIND THE TROUGH. WE DO HAVE SOME CUMULUS CLOUDS OUT THERE BUT THEY STILL SEEM A BIT FLAT, SO TO SPEAK.

IN THE EVENT SOMETHING CRAZY OCCURS AND WE DO HAVE SOME SEVERE WEATHER, HAIL AND WINDS WILL BE OUR MAIN THREATS. THE RADAR PIC SHOWS THE TROUGH. THE BLUE SHOWS WHERE THE CUMULUS CLOUDS ARE.

OVERALL, WE'LL BE OK.
HAVE A GOOD EVENING.

0335L-WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17, 2026

MARGINAL RISK for severe weather later this afternoon into tonight. If storms occur here, very large hail & high winds are the main threats. The tornado threat is very low. Per Guidance, storms may not occur here, but some models do show the possibility. A cold front will be the main culprit in this mess, so we’ll wait and see what happens as it pushes into the area and how far it gets.

HEAT ADVISORY in effect from 1PM until 8PM. Heat Index values up to 108 are possible.

Overall, we’ll be ok, just a little toasty. Here’s your forecast from the NWS in NORMAN:

Today- Sunny, breezy, hot with highs around 101. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, becoming southeast 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 20 percent. Heat index values up to 107 early in the evening.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!

750PM OUTLOOK:

THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK WE MIGHT SEE SOME THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THIS EVENING. STORMS AREN'T REALLY NUMEROUS BUT IF ANY OF THESE MOVE INTO THE AREA, LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE MAIN THREATS.

THESE CELLS ARENT MOVING VERY FAST BUT A FEW ARE PRODUCING UPWARDS OF 3 INCH HAIL OUT WEST.

WILL ADVISE IF NEEDED.

0330L-TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 2026

Welcome back to temperatures in the 90s for today. We’ll have fairly light winds, so it’ll feel a bit warm out there this afternoon. The week starts with a GENERAL THUNDERSTORM RISK as a weak front is forecast to stall around the OK/KS border later today bringing a low chance for thunderstorms to the area. If storms form, they may drift south and a few could become severe due to hail and the wind. We’ll have to wait and see where it actually ends up. No need to worry.

Wednesday, we go from the frying pan into the oven with high temps forecast to be in the triple digits along with an increasing heat index so be prepared for that. We’ll also jump into a Marginal Risk for some severe weather, so we’ll deal with it.

Overall, we’ll be ok, so here’s your forecast from the NWS in NORMAN:

Today- Sunny. Highs in the lower 90s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight- Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds 15 to 20 mph.

HAVE A GOOD DAY!
