Our team recently visited Roboeatz at WellSpan York Hospital to get an in-person look at how they're integrating robotics into their healthcare foodservice. It's currently the only installations of its kind in the U.S., and what better way to understand innovation than seeing it in action yourself?

During our visit, we saw how the system provides fresh, made-to-order meals throughout the day, giving hospital staff, visitors, and families a convenient dining option when other foodservice locations may already be closed. Watching the robotic arm prepare a dish was fascinating, and learning how the technology supports a faster, more flexible dining experience made it easy to see why solutions like this are generating so much interest across the industry.

The foodservice industry continues to evolve and these experiences help us stay informed, ask better questions, and further learn how new technologies support operators, staff, and guests. Thank you to Mike Long at Wellspan York hospital for letting us in for a closer look at the robotic action!

The walls at Dunwoody Village continue to tell its story. Our Branding Team curated and restored a collection of archival and contemporary photographs to create a custom parlor-style gallery wall that celebrates the community’s rich past and vibrant present. From extensive photo editing to custom detailing on a curved wall with flexible moldings, this installation was truly a labor of love.

A big thank you to Rachel Paul, Jim Rennix, and Ryan Stradley for joining our team today for an insightful Lunch & Learn focused on Flexeserve and the future of hot food-to-go.

Rachel presented to our team how Flexeserve's innovative hot-holding technology is helping operators rethink foodservice delivery. What stood out most was the ability to maintain food quality, freshness, and food safety while creating greater operational flexibility. Their hot air recirculation technology and multi-temperature holding capabilities allow a wide variety of menu items to be merchandised and served from a single platform without compromising quality.

As foodservice continues to evolve, technologies that bridge the gap between production, merchandising, and service are becoming increasingly valuable. Solutions like these create opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, support labor challenges, and enhance the overall guest experience.

Sessions like this give our team the opportunity to explore innovative technologies, challenge traditional operating models, and discover ideas that can be integrated into future projects for our clients.

Thank you for sharing your expertise and giving our team a closer look at what modern hot-holding can mean for today's foodservice operations.

The value of attending the National Restaurant Association Show isn't just seeing new equipment, it's discovering solutions that can immediately improve our projects and identifying innovations that may shape the future of foodservice design.

This year, our SCOPOS team returned from NRA 2026 with new ideas, hundreds of photos, and dozens of conversations about how technology, automation, flexibility, and operational efficiency continue to transform the industry.

Several products stood out because they solve real challenges we face every day:

▪️ Ventless cooking solutions that create new possibilities for locations where traditional hood systems aren't feasible.

▪️ AI-powered retail and smart cooler technologies that eliminate costly RFID systems while improving inventory management and guest convenience.

▪️ Modular induction cooking platforms that could allow us to integrate flexible cooking components directly into custom millwork and future live-cooking environments.

▪️ Automated pizza production equipment capable of producing artisan-style dough at speeds that help address labor shortages while maintaining quality.

▪️ Wireless temperature monitoring systems that eliminate Wi-Fi dependency and subscription costs—a potential game changer for kitchen operations.

▪️ Compact refrigeration, mobile serving solutions, and equipment innovations that help maximize functionality in smaller footprints.

What impressed us most wasn't any single product. It was the industry's shift toward smarter, more adaptable, and more efficient environments. Manufacturers are focusing on flexibility, automation, mobility, and operational simplicity in ways that align directly with the challenges our clients are trying to solve.

Even more exciting, several of the solutions we discovered are already being incorporated into active SCOPOS projects.

Thank you to our team members who attended, explored, questioned, photographed, documented, and shared their findings. The conversations are already influencing future projects, and we're excited to continue applying what we learned.

Here’s a little behind the scenes!

Our branding team is currently deep in the process of shaping the next brand identity for a senior living dining experience. At SCOPOS, branding is never rushed or surface-level. Every concept is thoughtfully developed through collaboration, research, and storytelling alongside our clients, designers, architects, and project partners to create something that authentically reflects the project vision.

From signage and wall graphics to menus, dishware, and environmental details, every touchpoint is designed as part of a larger, connected experience.

The result is more than a cohesive aesthetic — it’s an atmosphere that feels welcoming, elevated, and deeply personal, helping residents feel a true sense of belonging and home.

This past Saturday, the SCOPOS team had a fun time volunteering at Berks for their annual Easter Egg Hunt.

We spent the morning scattering eggs, helping transport residents to the festivities, and guiding the kids through the hunt. One of the best parts of the day was interacting with the residents. Having the chance to talk with them and see their faces light up as the children hunted for eggs was a beautiful reminder of why community matters so much to us.

SCOPOS previously provided the food service design for Phoebe Berks' coffee shop, pub, and bistro. It was rewarding to walk through the community, see how well those venues have held up over time, and watch them still being actively enjoyed by residents and staff!

Thank you Phoebe Berks team for having us! We love getting out to support our community.

At SCOPOS, we know that bringing a foodservice vision to life takes more than good design, it takes alignment from concept through installation.

Our team recently spent two days at the Middleby Corporation Brands Innovation Kitchens with Boelter, getting hands-on with the latest equipment and technology. One thing was clear: a strong Kitchen Equipment Contractor partnership is critical to successfully translating design intent into the built environment.

Working closely with the Boelter Consultant Services team helps us bridge that gap, ensuring that what’s designed on paper is executed with precision in the field. It’s how innovations from manufacturers like Lynx, Jade-Beech, and EVO actually perform the way they’re intended to.

Thank you to the Boelter and Middleby Corporation Brands teams for creating a space where design, equipment, and ex*****on come together. This kind of collaboration is what moves projects forward and raises the standard for what a successful install should look like.
