As fall rolls in the leaves change, the pumpkin spice shows up everywhere we also start to see an uptick in questionable Medicare marketing behavior.
Some individuals begin going door‑to‑door without an appointment, saying things like:
“I’m from your agent’s office.”
“I just need to review your benefits.”
“Medicare sent me.”
These statements can be misleading, and they don’t reflect how legitimate Medicare agents operate.
A reputable agent will never show up unannounced, will never claim Medicare sent them, and will always follow CMS rules around permission‑to‑contact and proper identification.
If someone appears at your door unexpectedly, it’s okay to decline, ask for written information, or contact your trusted agent directly to confirm.

Several individuals have recently reported receiving emails claiming to offer a “Medicare Kit” through MyChart or suggesting that MyChart is providing new Medicare benefits or supplies. These messages may look official, use MyChart branding, and create a sense of urgency but they are not legitimate.
MyChart does not send Medicare kits, packages, or benefit offers.
These emails are part of a phishing scam designed to collect personal information, Medicare details, or login credentials.

📌 Important Information for Medicare Part D Members: LIS (Extra Help) Review
Social Security sends annual notices each fall ,usually in October to let Medicare Part D members know if their LIS (Extra Help) level will change for the upcoming year.
In addition to these yearly notices, Social Security conducts a full LIS redetermination every two years to confirm continued eligibility. This deeper review may request updated income or resource information, unless a change in your financial or Medicaid status triggers an earlier review.
Please watch your mail in October and read your LIS letter carefully. It will explain whether:
You continue to qualify,
They need updated information, or
You may need to reapply.
